A unique location, overlooking the Grand Canal, Palazzo Barocci emerges like a gem amongst the streets and alleys of the city. Originally built in the 1300s as a domus maioris, this building became Teatro Sant’Angelo in 1676 and was first transformed into a private home and then into a hotel. Palazzo Barocci is the story of an unforgettable part of Venetian history: that of concerts and premieres, that of musicians, writers and immortal characters like Vivaldi and Goldoni.

The hotel has a very good position, on the main canal, if you need something fast you have a pharmacy, a supermarket 3 minutes away. Very good services, the rooms look very good and a quiet garden behind the hotel.

Hotel was excellent and very clean. All the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Excellent information on arrival and helpful with choosing restaurant for eating. Breakfast was a buffet breakfast mainly continental breakfast, nice relaxed experience and all the staff were very caring and understanding. Nicholas was the head waiter, him and his staff were very pleasant to us. I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is in a great location on the Grand Canal, we had a side view from our room. It’s next to the San Angelo vaparetto stop which made it easy to get to and from the airport and to move around the city by boat. The room was a bit dated but it was spacious and clean.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Gorgeous clean, stylish rooms. We stayed in room 303 a fabulous private terrace overlooking the main canal. Helpful, friendly staff. Breakfast was lovely with a varied choice. Quaint secluded relaxing garden. Water bus right out side the hotel a few minutes ride to St Marks square or the Rialta Bridge. Would highly recommend staying here, you won’t be disappointed.

We can not praise this hotel enough, it was simply outstanding and what made it was the staff! The location - on the grand canal next to the water bus. The waterbus from the airport goes direct here (St Angelo stop) on the orange line. This was then so convenient for travelling to murano/buruno as well as for travelling to and from the airport. Our room was small, a superior double. We had a little balcony which was nice, but the room was small and getting to wardrobes was difficult at times because of needing to move the chair or bin etc etc. the room had everything - king size bed, usb charger by bed, mini-fridge that was stocked and a coffee machine as well as bathroom amenities. We loved learning this was once one of Vivaldi’s theatres but found little connection to him around the hotel which was a shame. The best coffee in Venice was here - I’m sorry we have forgotten the bar staffs name (from Slovenia I think) - she made the best coffee on our Saturday and Sunday morning. She was very friendly and came across we were family. This member of staff and the brilliant receptionist (again I’m sorry I forgot her name - curly hair and brother lives in Cardiff) went above and beyond and made our trip perfect. They have multiple recommendations for restaurants and sights as well as explaining cost cutting tips for the city. We look forward to coming back, thank you all
