The positives: the location is excellent, the room was very good with a balcony and the staff were pleasant and helpful, at least in the main hotel. The hotel was very clean and our room was spotless each day. Negatives: there are two hotels serviced by the restaurant which I confess we did not know;Bonvecchiati and Palace Bonvecchiati. We arrived at the former to be told that we were booked in at the Palace. There is a connecting corridor between the hotels which at the time we did not know but the Receptionist directed us with our bags around the outside of the building to the other reception. Surely with three staff lounging around the Reception Desk they could have taken our bags through the hotel and taken us direct to the other desk! Restaurant. We did not eat here based on previous reviews and from the breakfast we were very happy not to eat here. See separate review. Room; Quite bizarre that having persuaded my wife that toiletries would be on hand in a hotel costing Ā£350 per night, there was no hair conditioner but there was plenty of bath foam. Only problem was that there was no bath! I read a review that this was one of the top ten luxury hotels in Venice and it may be for price but it is lacking in a number of elements.

Always wanted to go to Venice so decided on an end of school holiday trip that also coincided with my wedding anniversary. As we were travelling with my children, we required 2 rooms. I had been in email contact with Daniel at the hotel who arranged connecting rooms for us and also contacted us a couple of days before we went to make sure everything was ok. On arriving in Venice we chose to get a Car to the Piazzole Roma and then a water Taxi to the hotel, as it has its own canal entrance. When we got there we were checked in by Ugo, who then took us to our rooms, explained about breakfast and the room features and left us. The rooms are beautiful and really big with lots of storage space and a lovely bathroom with lots of toiletries. There was also a complementary bottle of sparkling wine and a tray of little cakes and biscuits. We went out to explore and were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves 5-10 minutes from the Rialto bridge in one direction and the Piazza San Marco in the other. Breakfast is served in there sister hotel which we found to be only a couple of minutes walk from our room There was quite a good selection of pastries, fruit, cold meats, cheese and some hot food. I cannot really find any faults with this hotel and would thoroughly recommend it.

We stayed here two nights and found the location quite convenient to the Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square. The room is smallish and the bathroom is well equipped. Unfortunately the water temperature during showers is not consistent. The breakfast buffet is good and the staff helpful.

The location of this hotel is perfect for walking all around Venice. Very spacious room and surprisingly large bathroom . The breakfast we had in their sister hotel next door was delicious and had a good view of one of the canals. Only downfall for us was that the bar in the hotel was never open. After a day of touring it would have been a bonus. Can't wait to return!!!
