This hotel is very modern and sleek, and conveniently located close to Piazza San Marco and the Rialto bridge on the Grand Canal. We had a large junior suite which was very roomy. The windows looked out unto one of the small canals and sometimes we could catch a gondola going by. The decor was modern and the room was quiet and equipped with nice amenities. However, the breakfast buffet that came with our room was a big disappointment compared to our previous hotel experiences in Rome and Florence. There didn't seem to be enough servers, so many tables sat dirty for a long time. The display of breakfast items and the flow of traffic in the breakfast area was also not very good. And if we went to breakfast later, most of the items would be gone. Additionally, we found the hotel and breakfast staff not friendly at all. The reception staff was efficient, but not particularly friendly. You will do a lot of walking in Venice, and just be aware, we had to walk to our hotel with our suitcases (about 2 blocks through a narrow passage) because of the tide. I would recommend this hotel, but it would be nice if the breakfast situation could be improved and the staff were a bit more outgoing.

Stayed with my husband for 3 nights at the Palace Bonvecchiati to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Fabulous location, so close to St Marc's/Rialto etc, very helpful staff, immaculate room with large bathroom and great shower. I'd read lots of bad reviews about breakfast but have to say didn't find that at all. Yes, breakfast is served in the sister hotel via a linked corridor but it's not far to walk and from what I witnessed there's plenty choice and staff where helpful and attentive. I didn't eat in the restaurant outwith breakfast so couldn't comment on any other dining experiences. There's plenty choice of bars and restaurants around the hotel regardless of the direction you head off in, and as you would expect Venice is not for those who dislike a walk! On the way in we decided on a private water taxi as a treat but on our return to the airport jumped on the orange line public transport. Public water transport is easy to and from the airport and costs 15€ per person. Take to the rialto bridge and the hotel is only a short, couple minute walk from there. Great city to visit and have no complaints about the hotel. Would fully recommend it.

Situated very close to, and within easy walking distance, and between, St. Marks Square and the Rialto Bridge. The hotel is the sister hotel to the Hotel Bonvecchiati, the only drawback is breakfast is taken at the latter, but the two hotels are connected and you can walk inside should the weather be poor or indeed very hot. The restaurant is excellent and offers lunchtime specials with reasonable prices for Venice/Italy. All the hotel staff were great. You must take a famous Spritz at the Café Florian, on St. Marks Square, but if you choose to sit outside where the band is playing, opposite the cathedral, you will be charged an additional 12 euros for two, which if you stay inside you do not. And Venice wouldn't be Venice without a Gondola ride. You can get all inclusive discount tickets for many visits and museum entries from the Tourist Office, just off the Square.

Our first impression was wow, super modern very nice. The location was unbeleivably convenient. We had two rooms. One overlooking a canal and a nice bright room overlooking the back of houses, a view you did not want to look at, but as the room was in light colours it made up for the lack of view. The interior of the rooms is very modern and I found the design fantastic. The decor was super nice as was the layout. Extremely appealing. The bathroom had a shower and tub, which was very convenient. The soap bar was extremely nice. There was no conditioner, only shampoo. First time ever that I go to a hotel and there is no conditioner. Whilst it was easy to use the liquid soap and shampoo I struggled with the body balm. The plastic bottle was too hard and you could not squeeze it out easily. I found the hotel staff, everywhere, indifferent. This is a polite way to say, they were bordering rude. Only one chamber maid said 'good morning'. At breakfast no one ever said a word to us. No hello, goodbye, good morning, no thank you. The food in the restaurant was horrible. The ceasar salad was totally unedible. The lettuce still had water in it. Horrible. The spaghetti ale vongole was the most inferior we had tasted during our trip. We ordered a set menu and they never brought the wine, despite two reminders. The room was very clean, no complaints on that front. It is a shame really because the hotel is beautiful. During the second night at some point our room smelt of sewage. I noticed the corridor smelt sometimes as well, but not often. It is a shame really because as premises I would rate it 4 but who wants to be a guest in a hotel when they feel unwanted. During checkout we had the feeling they were glad we were leaving. No thank you, no see you again. But we found that this is the attitude of most Italians. You feel that it must your money they want!! So do I recommend it? Difficult to answer. Would I go back there, probably due to the cleanliness, modern facilities and location.

This hotel was excellent for so many reasons. short walk to either San Marco Square of Rialto Bridge. Directly in the center of a maze of stores and restaurants but easy to keep aligned to find our way back. Awesome restaurant and nice bar for late night drinks. Perfect stay for a perfect vacation.
