The staff are very helpful and welcoming. The location is very nice, a kind of a hidden gem very close to some big touristic points and yet off the beaten path. The restaurant and the Krug lounge are amazing. The rooms are comfortable with a great decor, even if some elements are very scenographic but not much functional. Overall, the hotel does not offer as much as other 5 star hotels

Ok location, however the hotel is tying too hard. Not as clean as I had expected after staying in the Danelli for a few nights. Carpets had marks all over them. Breakfast was very average. Bed not comfortable at all and very low to the ground. I would aviod

First the good stuff. The staff are very helpful. We got a lot of help before we arrived with booking restaurants and a taxi from the airport and with booking a cuut the linary experience. The hotel is well located and the rooms are a good size. It lacks any outside space for a drink on the terrace but the main bar is very ornate and quite an experience. Again the bar staff are very helpful. We booked a junior suite. Looking at the web site we expected that this would have a canal view. It didn't. That said it was probably quieter than a canal side room would have been but for the drilling - more of which in a moment. The room is a good size but there is no storage so no drawers and nowhere to unpack and no hanging space. So we lived out of a suit case for three days. Not what we expected. There was also no complimentary water and no tea or coffee making facilities. On days 2 and 3 of our stay there were building works on going. We were not advised before hand that these would be taking place and no apology offered. We asked about them and were told variously that they were unplanned works or works to the back office. I don't know which is true but I suspect the latter. No siesta for us. We enjoyed the culinary experience but it is worth noting that wine is not included which added another 115 euro to our bill - we did not choose the wine, they did. It was a memorable experience though ash and one which we count as a highlight to the trip - I only mention the additional cost so another visitor could be prepared. On the whole the stay in Venice was lovely but would we return to the hotel - no. It is also worthy of note that whilst there is an air conditioning control pad in the room it does not operate the air con - you have to phone reception and get them to turn it on. Not a five star hotel. We do recommend the private taxi transfer - but note again that if we had booked this ourselves it would have been 40 euro cheaper. We paid for the convenience of the hotel booking it. The hotel also booked us a gondala ride and that was very special because it was 90 minutes long and took us out of the main gondola tour. It was a special experience.

The service at this hotel was very warm and friendly. After a long journey to Italy it was a wonderful welcome and start to our vacation. The rooms were clean and had enough space to move around. Nice bathrooms that were not cramped. The decor is Phillipe Stark so it has a modern edge to it. The whole hotel has a family feel to it which makes it very welcoming. It is well located and has a great lounge area.
