Has gone down hill and is totally over rated now. Incompetent staff. This used to be one of my favorite places to stay in Victoria. I liked the view of the harbor and the central location next to the parliament building but now it just feels like a money grab from the moment you walk in. I called ahead and asked if I could check in early and I had requested it with my online booking. I spoke with a representative, gave my reservation code and was told my room was ready. However when I got there at 3 they told me I couldn't check in until 4 p.m I explained that I had called a head but they just shrugged and gave no explanation. I mentioned that I would just go grab a bite to eat at the restraunt in the hotel and they smiled and nodded ( I was with my husband and small children). When I got to the restraunt they said the kitchen was closed until 6 pm and only serve drinks (something the front hotel clerk could have mentioned). when we finally got to our room I had requested and paid extra for a ocean view but it was more of a garden view over looking the front entrance witch was pretty loud at night. Between the constant drunk people and occasional protesters it wasn't very relaxing. Finally, I was very much looking forward to ordering room service as it was very good last time. However the entire menu has changed. It is very limited now and stupid expensive. I don't mind paying extra if it's worth it but nothing on the tiny menu even sounded good. The parking garage was full most of the time and an extra 20/night too. Then there is the pool and gym. It used to be private to hotel guests but now to make more money they have opened it up as a public gym. Definitely the last time I'll ever stay there again. Don't wast your money.

Fathom, the in house restaurant, was quite good. The service we received was excellent. At the front desk, Trina was amazingly helpful and even got us checked in early. The only downside for us was that the bedding was way too firm. That and maybe some updates to the rooms but it seems they are working on that as the front lounge area was being renovated.

I am not sure why this is rated a 5 star Hotel? We had to ask for bathroom supplies and extra blankets becasue there were none in the closet. We were charged for a Microwave which is included in hotels in the US - we could not use the television or the pool, and there was way too much salt/MSG in the food, which I found out the hard way that I am deathly allergic to and ended up in the ER at the nearest hospital!

Can’t believe I needed to pay for parking, it should be included in the price. Check in time is 4pm, which is very late, and check out time is 11am. Good location, walking distance to parliament.

I was surprised there was not a microwave. Other than that, the room was very nice comfortable. I definitely will plan on coming back again. The view From the balcony was great.

Fantastic staff, great location - what more could you ask for?! The kids loved the cookies and milk they got room serviced in the evenings.
