Hotel Sans Souci Vienna

Three friends, four nights in Vienna in late August, and a trip built around some of the things Vienna does best: art, food and music. Our days took us through museums, galleries and art fairs, with great food in between and music becoming part of the Vienna experience. Hotel Sans Souci Wien turned out to be the perfect home for those four days. Each of us had our own room, and one of the first things we loved was discovering that they were not simply variations of the same room. Each had its own theme, design and artwork, giving it a distinct personality. Comparing our rooms and what each of us had discovered almost became part of the fun. We later learned that the hotel displays more than 90 original works, many from the owner’s personal collection. That explained something we had already noticed: the art never felt like decoration chosen simply to match the interiors. It appeared almost unexpectedly throughout the hotel — in our rooms, along corridors and in spaces where you might suddenly stop because something caught your eye. After spending our days experiencing Vienna through art, food and music, it was wonderful to return somewhere where the conversation with art somehow continued. And it continued with the people too. The concierge team were not only extremely helpful, their knowledge of art genuinely impressed us. Conversations went beyond the usual recommendations and reservations. They knew the museums, exhibitions, galleries and the art itself. We actually learned from them, which added another dimension to the trip. Beyond the art, Sans Souci is elegant, intimate and beautifully maintained. The rooms were extremely comfortable, the location was excellent for exploring Vienna, and the service throughout our four nights was warm, attentive and personal. By the end of our stay, Sans Souci felt like more than the hotel we returned to after a day of exploring Vienna. We came for Vienna’s art, food and music. Sans Souci somehow became part of the experience.

Out of the 6 hotels we stayed at on our trip, this was by far the best.

An absolutely beautiful and stylish hotel. All of the staff were welcoming and genuinely kind. We had drinks in the bar and dinner in the Veranda restaurant which was exceptionally good. I particularly loved the coffee service and my partner was wowed by the full length swimming pool . This is a truly exceptional hotel .

In my 50+ years traveling the world, this is my top hotel for beauty, luxury, art display, comfort, restaurant, and service. The staff is unexcelled for local knowledge, kindness, efficiency, patience, attentivrness, snd anticipating one's needs. The buffet breakfast and the two Olympic-length lanes in the fresh and unchlorinated pool are exceptional. Special kudos to Anna, Shariff, and Tomàs fot their superb service snd assistance!

Great location. Just walking distance from Museum quartier and Maria Theresa Platz. A metro nearby but we never had to use it. The atmosphere was wonderful. The library, restaurant, lobby and the corridors were all thought through in their design. Rooms had really high ceilings, which is really nice. The shower had great flow and the bathrooms were spacious. The temperature control on the Air Con is great too - we could reduce it to 17 deg during the nights and have it at 23 during the day. With respect to the value for the money - one would agree that this is on the expensive side of the hotels. But given the locations, having sauna, steam room and great facilities, more than exceptional breakfast, free coffee 24/7 - it is worth the money. There's no question of cleanliness. The hotel is spot clean - wherever you go. No outside noise will disturb you when the windows are closed. The best part is the service- from the reception staff to kitchen staff they all were really polite and committed to great customer service. Anna on the reception - allowing an early check in for us to giving us great information about the surroundings and the amenities, exceeded expectations. Will definitely go back when time permits.
