This is absolutely the sort of hotel I love: it doesn't have that A1 location inside the Ringstrasse and so it works very hard indeed to get everything else right. And it pulls that off, with superb comfort and service. What I liked: - Even at entry level, our room was large and well-furnished - Very comfortable bed with pillow menu - Windows that open - Large bathroom with window - nice spa in the basement including small sports pool - pleasant bar area - outstanding breakfast (included in the price). Really outstanding: ample choice, buffet and a la carte choices, superb quality and lovely innovations like a different 'smoothie of the day' each morning - every single member of staff was friendly, welcoming and very efficient, the service was absolutely without fault. From comprehensive tourist advice on check-in, discreet and efficient housekeeping teams to the friendly spa staff, everyone went out of their way to make our stay memorable. - convenient location in the Spittelberg/Museum Quarter area, next to a metro station and very handy for some excellent (normal, not touristy) restaurants nearby. My first visit to Vienna, and we chose the hotel for the pool not location - but I would actually go for this location over the tourist scrum of the inner ring every time now What I didn't like - the motion sensitive lights are a bit keen to turn off (if I really had to nit pick about something!) This was the most expensive hotel of a trip across central Europe, but it was also the best value. In an extremely expensive city, a stay here is money well spent indeed.

Probably the best hotel I've ever visited. The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about their city, with some fantastic recommendations and we felt important the minute we walked through the front door! The rooms and the hotel are immaculate. We came here in part due to its top status on trip advisor and that could have been hard to live up to, however this hotel went above and beyond. Please visit the Sans Souci on your next trip, you won't be disappointed!

Our stay at San Souci San was absolutely perfect. Souci is a world class hotel, perfectly situated close to museums, art galleries and shopping. The rooms are nicely appointed with all the amenities you would expect from this calibre of hotel - good linens, bathrobes and slippers, beautiful bright bathroom with a large shower and evening turn down service. Pleasant surprises included ample bottles of water (although the hotel is proud to boast you can drink from the tap), high ceilings, and best of all coffee delivered to your room upon request in the morning! (Thank you Pascal!!) The breakfast was beautifully displayed with endless options. Eggs could be ordered to your liking. The staff was eager to serve and very friendly. Staff: The "two Lara's" were quite helpful, Sarah set us up with a great guide for a half day tour, Michele had some good recommendations for food, leaving us with the overall impression that the team here was eager to make their guests' stay a memorable one. Bar - Julio was incredible! He was very personable and it was obvious that other staff enjoyed working with him. He also provided us with some tips for "must-sees" and where to go during our stay in Vienna. Veranda Restaurant - we decided to try the hotel restaurant on our last night in Vienna and we were not disappointed with our choice! The Harvest Salad was perfectly prepared, lightly dressed, with goat cheese and peeled figs. The risotto was a departure from traditional risotto with a grainy texture and somewhat sweet taste. Portion sizes varied from average to generous. The Wiener Schnitzel portions were enormous and came with a puffed breaded coating instead of the typical style where the crust adheres to the veal. The restaurant also offered us a complimentary foie gras mousse served with perfect greens. The service was second to none. Milan followed up with us to see if there was anything he could do to top our evening. Overall - an excellent stay at the Sans Souci. This is definitely a hotel we would return to! Thank you Sans Souci Wien! Michael and Gail Walden

Based on reviews we selected Hotel Sans Souci Wien for our 4 night stay in Vienna. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the doorman and our luggage whisked away until we were ready to go to our rooms. The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were given some local information and a map with some things noted for us. Our rooms were not quite ready so we went to the restaurant and had a late lunch and some wine. Before we were finished our front desk clerk came in to tell us the rooms were ready. Throughout our stay whenever we approached the desk they immediately knew who we were, it's a seemingly simple thing but it makes you feel like a very important guest. We were asked about our plans to get to the airport and a car and driver were offered to be arranged for a reasonable fee. Anticipating the guests' needs is another nice touch. The Sans Souci has a very lovely bar called Le Bar that we visited every evening. Its small but so elegantly decorated. I wish I could recall the name of our server in Le Bar to commend his attention to detail and his excellent memory of what we had previously ordered, he was there each evening we were there. All of the Sans Souci staff seemed to be very well trained in treating guests in such a personal manner. We reserved Luxury Rooms, they were a good size, plenty of room to feel comfortable. Our friends even came over to share some champagne in our room without feeling cramped. The bathrooms are spacious with plenty of counter space. Breakfast in the dining room is quite a treat. Many choices of fruit, yogurt, breads, pastries, fresh juice, a smoothy of the day and eggs made to order. Quite nourishing before a long day of touring the city and museums. The modern interior and furnishings made the inside seem very bright and airy. A few factors make this a 5 star hotel in my opinion - level of service and expertise of the staff, comfortable and well thought out room furnishings, Le Bar and the proximity to the Museum Quarter, Hofburg and Stephansplatz. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vienna. Its location and staff help make a trip to Vienna a pleasure. One thing to note about Vienna in general (even though not about the hotel I don't know where else to put this bit of info) - we were told at check in that they had been getting some complaints lately about taxis and that an Uber may be a better idea for when we needed a ride. We used Uber almost exclusively on this trip and each trip was quick and with a friendly driver. On one occasion we were near the river, tired from a long day of walking and an Uber was about 7 minutes away, we saw a taxi stand with waiting taxis and said "how bad can it be, we know where we are going." How wrong we were, the taxi smelled of cigarettes, the driver was verging on being rude and when we arrived at the hotel the fare mysteriously jumped from 11 euro to 14 euro as he put his hand on the meter. When we confronted the driver about this he put up his hands and said "how much do you want to pay?". We said 11 euro, gave him that and got out of the car. Use Uber! The hotel staff was right.

Location was perfect. Hotel staff was top notch. They treated us warmly and made us feel comfortable in their hotel as well as their city. The rooms were clean, well appointed, and comfortable. The breakfast, that was included, had a lot of delicious options as well as eggs to order.
