This hotel is near the important museums but slightly off the beaten path, which I very much liked. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was bountiful, including a large variety of healthy options. It seemed the perfect place to stay.

An overdue review as we stayed here in January. Beautiful lobby, not vast, but with a magnificent chandelier. Good check in and offered a drink of warm lemonade. We were shown to room and briefed about hotel facilities and breakfast times. Anxious when I realised room was next to lift but needn't have worried as room was very quiet (524). We had booked a room with a four poster bed and a balcony. The room was very modern with windows on 2 sides. The large bed was in centre of the room. Lots of wardrobe space. Nice bathroom with large shower but no bath. Bathrobes and slippers provided and Molton Brown toiletries. Separate toilet with a toilet that has features!! Lovely comfortable bed and a pillow menu available. Good breakfast times serving until 2pm on Sunday. Huge breakfast selection. Three different types of fresh juice and a daily smoothie. Cereals with lots of toppings and even offer lactose free milk, pastries, breads, ham and cheeses, fresh yoghurt (1% and 3%) Bircher muesli, a different hot buffet selection daily with additional egg menu and specials. All the staff were very helpful, and not that it's a requirement, but all speak excellent English. The cocktail bar is a gem, with a good selection of cocktails and the 4 (!) we tried were all excellent. Staff just seem willing to go the extra mile. When we returned from a ball at 5.30am we asked the member of staff on duty if he would mind taking a photograph. He put on all the reception lights to make sure it looked good. When we checked out we put our bags into the store. When we returned to the hotel the taxi we had booked was waiting for us and the bags were already loaded. Such good service. For a hotel offering such high standards and service it would have been nice to have bath sheets not bath towels and a coffee maker in the room not just sachets of Nescafé. An excellent hotel in a good location with the most helpful and friendly staff.

Excellent modern hotel with superb staff and facilities. Doesn't look outstanding on arrival but rooms are modern and lovely, excellent bar and superb spa facilities. I considered other five star hotels and finally decided on Sans Souci and I believe I made the right choice.

I stayed there during the week of European Congress of Radiology and made reservation through Preferred Hotel web site. The hotel is now the only hotel on that web site as the Ring which changed ownership or management no longer uses the web site. I had a great room which was clean. The management and front desk personnel were very professional and courteous, including Sarah who checked me in. Minor issues included problems with the internet provider that the front desk did the best to try to solve. My package deal included breakfast which was a small buffet, but comparable in size to a hotel its size. You won’t find pre made scrambled eggs, but the kitchen will freshly make your scrambled egg or other eggs, including omelets for you. Even though the hotel is a little away from the ring and Stephansplatz, it is an easy less than 5 minutes with the U Bahn U3 train and the nearby station Volkstheater has both stops for U2 and U3. If you come from the airport you can get on U3 toward Ottakring from the CAT station. Don’t follow the directions by the hotel web site to get to the hotel from the Volkstheater station as if you take the Burggasse exit, you may have trouble seeing the hotel, which will be on your site and you have to cross 2 busy streets. Instead keep walking in the station to the U2 tract to Karlsplatz without getting on that train. There you will see the Volkstheater Burggasse exit which will put you much closer to the hotel, 1/2 block facing the hotel and avoiding busy streets. When you take U2 or U3 train, use the same entrance.

This hotel definitely deserves all great ratings and reviews. They know how to treat you well from the very start (responding to email inquiries and reservation process - they guarantee connecting rooms and you get what you were promised) till you leave. The best part with everything is how friendly and hospitable everyone is - they are really happy to see you and make you feel comfortable. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The only small note - bath towels could be more “comfortable” for a hotel of this class, and for some reason you get one towel for a day (unless ask each time) but this was nothing compared to everything else in our great stay.
