About the Hotel

When you head to Meliá Vienna’s 57 Restaurant for a cocktail, you’ll be drinking at the highest point in Austria. On weekends, a DJ livens up the scene, and during the week, guests are in prime position to close the deal in the Danube City Business District – the hotel is near the Austria Center and the United Nations, and after work, the recreation options of Danube Island await. Vienna’s panoramic cityscape is the standout design detail here, and walls of windows fill each guestroom with abundant light.

Reviews for Melia Vienna

Style and Elegance at an affordable price

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This is not a paid review and is based entirely on my opinion. I have submitted a video review on Instagram & TikTok (@roomwithastu) for those that require/prefer a visual representation. The Melia is located on the edge of where the action is and is in the DC Tower - Austria's tallest Skyscraper offering cracking views of the city and the River Danube. Its a walk to the Danube Tower also (worth a visit). What's good about it? Rooms are spacious and comfortable, well designed with a personal touch. Heated flooring, monsoon and handheld shower with Rituals accoutrements shout comfort and class from the rooftop - speaking of which it it houses has a chic restaurant and bar with amazing views on the roof, book early to avoid disappointment. 'The Level' offers additional VIP treatment and speciality rooms - check website for details. Personally I like the idea of being able to check out the city view (and room) from the comfort of the shower but it may not be for everyone - Fear not, there is a blind that can be drawn to prevent those prying eyes ! There's a good choice of breakfast offerings and we ate out during the day/evening - Trust me Vienna has alot to offer here so save your pennies and go into town ! What could be better? This hotel is screaming out for a spa ! They're missing a trick here. The hotel gym is ok, but a power rack and barbell would add more bang for your buck, in my opinion. That said, would I stay here again? Absolutely - and I intend to. Vienna is in my Top 3 European cities and the Melia only adds to the experience. We got a cracking deal on this hotel. At time of writing this was 4/5 TA rating and it deserves it. Great value for money !

Terrible experience. To avoid absolutely

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Terrible experience, to avoid absolutely. Despite their advertisement, the hotel is a monstrosity, sitting in an industrial zone, and 40 mn 1 way away from the city in taxi. We had booked the Level, which is a nonsense. Small, dirty, unattended. We actually had breakfast is the main lobby, much safer. Problem is the place is understaffed, and bar and service unavailable all afternoon till 5pm. We also had to leave 1 day earlier, and they pulled an in-house cancelation policy with let them collect the payment in full and keep 350 euros in their pockets. There are hundreds of other places in Vienna. Melia out of Spain does not work, and this one definitely does not meet the standards. You can remove 2 of the 5 stars they claim and you will be closer from truth. Avoid, avoid avoid. Jean Cazalet

Great hotel stay in Vienna

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Very friendly staff all around. Great breakfast. Rooms were very clean, spacious & luxurious. We took advantage of the upgrade which we paid for to get a larger room, early check in, late checkout & the use of their VIP lounge with drinks and snacks

One of the best hotels ever and I have stayed in hundreds

Absolutely stunning hotel with the best roof bar and premier lounge. The rooms are fabulous and we had a fantastic view. The premier lounge on 57th floor was unbelievably good. Free drinks including spirits between 4 and 7pm was a result. The breakfast was excellent and the staff all lovely. There was a German young lady on reception who was particularly amazing and helpful. They are all excellent though and I can't recommend this hotel enough.

A big disappointment for a 5 star hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

At the illustrious 5-star Melia in Vienna, the housekeeping service is so exclusive you get to personally invite them over, not once but twice! The EV charging offers a leisurely, wallet-lightening experience at just 80 EUR after a full day's slow charge. The fitness room is an intimate affair, where you're never more than an arm's length from your workout buddies. Breakfast has a charming DIY aspect, forcing a brisk trip back to your room for forgotten payment cards. The local flair is maintained with a German-only speaking breakfast greeter, immersing you fully, regardless of your language preference. At reception, they firmly believe in empowering guests to solve their own technical woes with public utilities. The hotel's unique location ensures you're briskly awakened by potent winds every morning, a literal breath of fresh air. Secluded in an office oasis, the hotel guarantees a daily subway venture to Vienna's delights, with the lone exception of a nearby Danube island. Lastly, the breakfast, an unassuming affair at 29 EUR, ensures your taste buds remain grounded in simplicity.
