Pluses: +All the staff really tries hard to excel (though, since the hotel is a newly acquired/renewed, a few are still learning). This was particularly remarkable because our visit coincided with a major golf tournament and the hotel was very busy. + Comfortable room +Outstanding breakfast and restaurant, with gourmet food and a very thoughtfully assembled wine list +Great golf location Minuses: - Fitness center, although very large, lacks some important items (a bar for pull ups/chin ups, for example) and when I went there, had the air conditioning off, on a very warm day, with no obvious way to turn it on, either (?!).

Truly exceptional hotel at every level. Fully equipped spacious bedrooms, main reception areas, choice of restaurants catering for all tastes, Spa, fitness centre, swimming pool and gardens, all meticulously clean and well maintained. Team members all polite and friendly, without being over attentive, providing you with the space to relax and enjoy your break.

The hotel was very impressive on arrival . Ease of checking in at the lounge and prompt and efficient luggage service to the room . Great room with fantastic view of golf course, sea and sunset . The bed was very comfortable and the facilities were impressive . I enjoyed a good breakfast with attentive service from friendly staff. Very good food and service at the two resturants I tried. The hotel has large open areas which are a little surgical . Some parts are bland lacking any energy or atmosphere . I didn't sense any real feel form Portugal ,but a lite feel from Asia . I would return to this hotel as the rooms ,service and food are all excellent .

Stunning infinity pool overlooking the golf course. Large selection of food & beverages serves during breakfast in Victoria. Lunch and snack serve in Palms pool bar. or if you a fan of Portuguese cuisine, Emo restaurant will not fail you. A visit to its spa and a treatment is a must.

Who knew October could be so warm in Portugal!? First time to Portugal, although I can't say much for the surrounding area I can highly recommend the Anantara Resort (which we only left twice!) I traveled with my husband and 16 month old daughter. We had a Junior Suite room as we wanted extra space when our daughter went to bed at 7. Room was lovely and spacious with a separate lounge/sofa area and a day bed on the balcony. We had half board which was cash credit we could use on food for lunch or dinner. Drinks were extra. Most of the restaurants had half board set three course menus and on the odd night when our daughter was too tired they restaurant were happy for us to take our dessert to our room and put her to bed! We were provided with a cot and high chair in the room. We booked our daughter into the World Wide Kids club on the hotel site for 3 hours a day. (You can choose from three slots, 10-1, 1-3, or 3-6 35 euros a session) Lovely new facilities and ran by two lovely women who couldn't do enough and helped us try and keep our daughter in some kind of napping routine! They also gave her lunch which meant every day my husband and I had a peaceful adult lunch and swim before collecting her The spa is lovely, I didn't have any treatments but the pool, jets and saunas were great and we had the place to ourselves most days. There are two pools outside, only downside was they are not heated but once you were in it was fine/refreshing. This was our first 'resort' type holiday and holiday with childcare, and we loved it, hope to return one day! Thank you to Dario and Manev and all of the staff at the hotel for making it a fantastic week. And to Keely and Rachel at world wide kids, you were brilliant :)
