My friend and I stayed at starfish for a month in April. We had a wonderful experience. The rooms are cozy and clean & the beach is stunning, the entertainment staff made every day fun. Food was plentiful and delicious. The market is only a five minute walk away with plenty of souvenirs and restaurants as well as a disco that goes until late. It’s a great place to go to relax but also to spend your days dancing - depending on what you like. The staff is amazing and made it feel like a home away from home. I plan on going back in the near future.

We had an amazing time at Starfish. The entertainment was awesome and worth the trip. Very clean rooms, the pool was outstanding, wonderful staff very polite and will help with anything you need. The beach was breathing the wait staff in the lobby bar were always there to replace your next drink. Can't wait to come back.

Starfish Cayo Santa Maria is a fantastic hotel! We stayed for 7 days and were more than happy with our experience. The beach was absolutely stunning! The pools were big and well kept. Our room was very nice and clean, housekeeping was excellent. The food is always the big thing people worry about when going to Cuba, but we found the food to be pretty good; they always had different options. You can also leave the resort to go to the market that is a few minutes away and eat at the restaurants there if you wanted a change. A suggestion would be to bring condiments like ketchup, or preferred sauces, peanut butter or jam etc. as they may not have what you're used to. The views you get from your room and the appearance of the hotel is beautiful. But our favourite thing about this resort are the workers! All the entertainment staff, cooks, servers, gardeners and housekeeping truly made you feel like family. They are hard working, and always have a smile on their face. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel in the future and would recommend it to everyone. You will not be disappointed! A special thanks to Leonardo, who is part of the entertainment team and the cooks for being so attentive and truly going above and beyond to make us feel comfortable.

No pest control/ Rat in the kitchen and buffet The resort has an issue with pest control. The buffet had a lot of flies on tables and on the top of food. The flies were all over the place, landing on custumers and food. In my second day, a RAT came out of the kitchen and pass throught my legs, and hide itself behind the buffet. I told the staff but I didn´t see any action after from them. The food is not good, it lacks variety and it is not well prepared. The coffe served in the breakfast had a very weird taste and we couldn´t drink it. We were very surprised because we had very good food in Havana and Trinidad, and we were expecting the same level of food in a resort. The "special restaurant" was bad surprise. The menu was so simple and the food was even worst than the buffet´s. Other points: the staff from the reception did not have any effort to help us with information about getting back to Havana. One of the guys was trying to push us to agency guy that was offering a very expensive transportation. After that, we talked to the animation staff and they were VERY helpful and gave us a lot of useful information. In fact, the animation staff were the people that worked very well in the resort.
