Les Sources de Caudalie, located among the vineyards of Château Smith Haut Lafitte, a Graves great growth, was established in 1999. The concept behind Les Sources de Caudalie is inspired by the "French Paradox", discovered over 20 years ago. It refers to a study proving that the French diet and lifestyle, particularly in Southwest France, is conducive to good health. Between vineyards and forests, at only 20 minutes from Bordeaux center, the architect Yves Collet created from scratch contemporary buildings from recycled local materials in tune with the surroundings. Les Sources de Caudalie is managed in keeping with the values of: well-being, generosity, authenticity, high-quality service, and emotion. Welcome to a universe where everything is devoted to nature, taste and senses.

Les Sources de Caudalie is the perfect vineyard getaway. The staff is excellent, the property is gorgeous and there are many activities to take part in on the property. The concierge gave great recommendations for off site meals and activities as well.

I rarely write reviews, however, I feel its my duty to write about my experience at Les Sources de Caudalie as a warning to others. To start, the property itself is very beautiful. I thought the pool was stunning, and the nicely groomed trails around the property were great. It's a bit of a maze at first, but it was fun to explore. We stayed in the Thil building which was a kilometre away from the main hotel and amenities. If you don't have a rental car, I would recommend staying on the main property as it would be quite a walk, especially after dinner. Now for the negative experience. Our second night we dined at the Michelin star restaurant on site, The Grand Vine. We went to bed at around 11 pm. At around 2 am I woke up feeling the most nauseous I've ever felt in my life. I barely made it to the bathroom and I began to aggressively and violently throw up. This continued for the next couple hours. I would lie down only to have to run back to the bathroom and throw up again. After a while all that was left was stomach acid coming up, which left my throat searingly sore. It was honestly one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. In the morning, I had broken capillaries all around my eyes and mouth and nose. I was so weak and dehydrated that all I could do that day was lie in bed and drink gatorade. I'm 100% certain I got food poisoning from their Michelin restaurant as I didn't leave the property once that day. When we told the staff they didn't seem to believe me, and would not refund me the meal. To say we were disappointed was an understatement. This was a traumatic experience for me, and they not only didn't believe me, but charged us an exorbitant amount for a meal I threw up. Of course for our last night, we left the hotel and dined elsewhere. I cautiously ate some bread and pizza and felt fine that night. For the record, I've never had food poisoning in my life, and I have no allergies of any kind. This was not just a coincidence. Wish I could write a positive review, but I feel I have to be honest as a warning to anyone who is considering staying at this hotel.

The service at the restaurant at this property was awful. I have never reviewed a property. This is an exception. The wind offerings were bar stock or $500 and up. No 150-500 wines were available. This is a winery hotel. I cancelled my 1200 wine order after my dining experience. The hotel was very nice. The personnel had a who cares attitude with a few exceptions

Was my Husband’s birthday that we celebrated in the restaurant, and there was bone in the dish where it wasn’t supposed to be. My husband broke his tooth ( he has to pay 500€ for it ), but we the restaurant offered us a free diner, so we decided to leave it as it is. But in the end of the stay, they have charged us for the Vine from that dinner. Which was a bit unpleasant. Overall the stay was amazing, and views are beautiful.
