This was our first time in Vietnam & so had no idea what to expect. However our fears were baseless. The attitude of the staff was brilliant. If something was not available they made sure that they organised it. They were very helpful & made the stay a fantastic experience. We were picked up at the airport by the resort & the travel was very comfortable with unlimited drinks & free wi fi was provided in the car. We had a pool suite which was a beautiful colonial style villa with its own outdoor veranda seating. The furnishings in the room were luxurious & very comfortable. Our butler Duong was very helpful in making recommendations for our visit to the city center. The food is absolutely heavenly. They have an open kitchen & their very own pastry chef who supplied us with unlimited freshly baked croissants, bread. The Vietnamese cuisine is one of the best I have had. One of the highlights of the visit was a boat ride which is complimentary from the resort to the city center. I am happy to recommend this resort for familes or couples.

An Lam Saigon River is beautifully located beside the mekong a little aside the busy city. The place is beautiful and we choose a riverfrontpool villa, the most expensive accommodation, private butler, 700$ a night and stay Three nights. At this level of prive you expect the best, no mistake and to avoid the " sorry sir". We choose the hotel airport transfer. The driver was welcoming us on time with fres water. The internet access suppose to work in the car was out of order, not very important. At arrival at the resort 30 minutes from the airport we were welcome by our private butler. Check in was made in our villa which was ready despite our early arrival 8:30 AM which was very pleasant. The daily fruit basket suppose to be there was forgotten but as I said befor nor very important. More important, the coffe machine was out of order in our room and wasn't fixed during our stay, this was not good, we went to the bar to have an Expresso and have of course to pay for it 250.000 ( 10$ for two). The Villa was well furnished, the butler very present to help you in everything you ask for : excursion, reservation, ...... The diner was very good , along the mekong, around :100$ per two,if you take appetizers, main course, desserts, a bottle of wine. Our first day was great and we were very happy with the resort, if we have to hive a mark on 20 it would have been 18,5 instaed oh 15 at the end of our stay. Second day we took an excursion (Mekong Delta). Honestly the excursion are expensive : 400$ and dosen't value it's better to visit by your own and find on tne web agency ( look atTrip advisor) it will be cheaper half or quater of the price for a similar result. We had a massage 90 mins : 100$ per person, good but not the best and expensive too. The second day we were still happy. The third day everithing get wrong and this is not acceptable at this level of price. We wanted to visit saigon and take a taxi to go to town (250.000 dong - 10 $ one way) but our buttler suggest he could get us a taxi for the day so we can go from place to place and wait for us ( 2.000.000. Dongs - 80$). It seems a good idea but at lunch time the taxi suppose to xwait for us disappear probably to have lunch during more then an hour letting us wait sweating in the heat. We had to call back the hotel and were upset and had just one more visit before the taxi took us back at the hotel, forgetting to bring us to the free market we wanted to see. The butler was sorry but didn't give our money back. Eit was rainy in the afternoon, we hd a leak in the bathroom, the evening service suppose to prepare the room for the night was not made when we came back from restaurant and we had to fix the room ourselves. Nothing more to say just it slowly decrease to arrive to something not acceptable at this level of price; A pity it could habe been a real eden.

This trip included a cruise up the Mekong to Siem Reap, we started at this hotel to have a couple of days to get over jet lag. Worked brilliantly! We had chosen to stay out of the centre of HCMC, this is located right beside the Saigon river. Once you get over the rater disturbing habit of the river to flow in two different directions, the whole riverside experience with lots of commercial traffic, dredgers and what not was fascinating. I guess the noise of boats chugging up and down might disturb light sleepers but being deaf it was not a problem for me nor my wife who has perfectly good ears! Lovely warm Vietnamese welcome. Kindness abounding. We had selected a riverside 'villa' with its own plunge pool and a nice high fence all around for privacy. Set up included an outside shower, one of my favourite things!! Inside bathroom modern and stylish. Bed comfy, air conditioning scarcely used given the breeze from the river. No mosquito problem so far as i could tell. Food excellent, served right by the river. Lots of fish as you would expect, i hope i never take for granted the gracious service we always seemed to receive or get so grumpy i stop noticing! Check out simple and courteous. Definately recommended!!

We did enjoy our stay here and knew it is a 5 star hotel and knew that food and drink would cost more than usual but we were not prepared for the very high prices of the food and drinks, being charged 120.000 dong for 1 can of Tiger beer that can be bought in other establishments for approximately 30.000 dong for a can. The standard of the hotel is very good but if like us you like your privacy then be aware that most of the staff whether it concerns them or not know you where abouts. The hotel is quite isolated from other eating establishments and you will need to take a taxi if you wish to eat out. What was really good was the size and layout of our room, which is great and having our own swimming pool was really good. We were treated well and spoilt by the "swan shaped towels and rose petals on our bed on our last night of a trip to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary. All in all a good experience.

Very nice Hotel, exclusive view on the river which flows in both directions. Suggest to take one of the river view apartments. The price is luxurious, but depending on your intentions, worth the effort. Good for relaxing and doing some excursions
