The Fairmont Kea Lani is all about service. And it was perfect. Not one bad experience, or even average experience over our four night stay. The staff was wonderful. We stayed in one of the ocean view king suites, it was only on the second floor, but we did have a view. The room was fantastic - large enough, quiet air-conditioning, a large bathroom with walk in shower and a nice size soaking tub and private commode. The balcony was huge, large enough for a lounger and a dining table with four chairs with room to spare. Turn down service and maid service were over the top nice. We even asked for a few extra coffee packs and water. When we returned we found our fridge fully stocked. They easily earned a nice tip. The property is great for couples or families. It is large but not over built and the beautiful landscaping is well maintained. There are quiet meditation areas. Three well separated pools including a family with kids and an adults only version and there is pool side service. One pool has a swim up bar. The beach is really a large cove maybe a third of a mile wide and is isolated by being adjacent to several private villas and homes that kept crowds to a minimum. This side of Maui has light surf and calm winds - perfect for snorkeling and paddle boarding. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this property. There is a small village nearby and Fairmont offers car service that will pick up and drop off. We used the service for dinner at Spagos next door at the Four Seasons, which was over the top fine dining. All the food at the Fairmont was perfection as well - Ko and Nick's and even the pool bar all get five stars too.

My husband and I stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani to celebrate our 25th anniversary and enjoyed the resort very much...the service was top-notch and especially liked the “extra” touches like the chilled towels at the pool, turndown service, friendly valet staff, iced tea/water in the lobby....they all helped to make our trip memorable. But we did have one disappointment....we learned about the complimentary canoe experience way in advance of our trip and were very interested in doing this activity. I was, however, concerned about getting in and out of the canoe so I reached out to the hotel and was told you would be required to get in from waist deep water and it could be rather strenuous. Based on this information, we declined making a reservation. Well, imagine our surprise when sitting on the beach one day, we watched the canoe go out twice and both timesthey loaded/unloaded in ankle/calf deep water....something we certainly could have handled. We did speak to a front desk staff member and she said that “sometimes” you might have to go out from deeper water...it would have been nice to know we could have booked this experience and most likely been able to participate...but based on the response I got, we didn’t think it would even be possible. The front desk staff said a manager would contact us but nobody ever did. This was a rather disappointing end to our special trip.

We visited the Kea Lani for our anniversary ( and my birthday ) week. It was our first trip to Hawaii . From the moment we arrived , everything exceeded our expectations! We are President's club members and I guess do to that , and our anniversary / birthday week ,we were upgraded to an even more amazing room than we had booked ! ( from a deluxe ocean view suite to a Kilohana signature suite :)) all ocean front suites have beautiful views, but having the wrap around porch really was spectacular, especially at sunset 😍 I loved the size of this resort property , it's just right ! Not so large you need to backpack to go to the pool. Everything is within (at most) a 5 min walk or less. Everything ( restaurants, pools , lobby , ect) is facing the ocean as well. Our suite was also just steps away from Ama ( the pool bar/ restaurant ) which was perfect for getting a delicious cocktail ( we tried them all, all were delicious!) and people watching , or taking in the breathtaking Maui ocean views ( all the way to Molokini!) and endless gardens... When we arrived in our suite, we were pleasantly surprised with complimentary chilled Champagne for our anniversary , and a plate of delicious chocolates for my birthday 😊, both accompanied by sweet celebratory notes💕💕💕 Our suite was so spacious, and the decor / amenities luxurious! The customer service was impeccable ! We made a few reservations through the concierge before our arrival . They sent us information on their recommendations for Luaus, car rentals, restaurants, and activities. Everything we booked was amazing, and effortless! We had the best views/ tables . They offer notifications through text at this property, which was wonderful! Anything from needing more towels to making reservations could be handled just with a quick text, which we loved. One evening , we ended up running late with limited cell coverage in west Maui and texted for them to change a dinner reservation, which was done instantaneously . They also texted periodically asking if we needed anything at all , and asked how we were enjoying our vacation. We ordered room service the night before we did the Road to Hana in anticipation of having an early start. Everything was hot and the server presented it as if we were sitting at the best seats in Ko. We mentioned our plans for the following day, and within 30 min he was back with a Fairmont bag filled with treats ,snacks and drinks for our journey!! The concierge had an informative turn by turn cd ,maps , and a cooler for our lunches for Hana the morning of our trip as well. Their attention to detail is unsurpassed! We dined at a few of their restaurants during our stay as well. For our anniversary we ate at Ko, and it was the most delicious meal we had in Maui! ( and yes we went to Mama's fish house, which was good ). I would also highly recommend Ama, especially their Poke nachos ... delicious ! The breakfast buffet at Kea Lani was also very good, with lots of diverse options. We tend to stay at Fairmont's when we take our yearly anniversary / birthday trip, and this property is a wonderful example of the service and quality that exceeds our expectations , and is greatly appreciated!! They made our trip one we will remember for a lifetime:)

Their customer service never disappoints! Check in is always exciting with the necklaces given. Bed cozy. Not the newest room. Always great you by your name. Casual atmosphere. Open air walkway to your room. Really nice torch lighting each evening and fun scavenger hunt!
