We stayed at this property 3 and a half years ago when a cousin had a destination wedding for their daughter and loved everything about the Fairmont. Now, we spent 5 nights (12/03-12/08) at this hotel. The Suite was large ( a corner suite with wrap around balcony). The service was great. Housekeeping knew us by name and were very courteous. One of the amenities this hotel has is a washer and dryer on all floors and it is free. On the third floor there are 2 each

The Fairmont Kea Lani is our happy place. We try to make it back every 2-3 year’s. Each time we are so impressed by the warm and gracious staff and the beautiful grounds, pools, and beach. The accommodations are modern and spacious enough for a family of four, with rollaway available if you need a bit more sleeping space. Everything about the resort is top notch. The price of food is high, but this is true of most hotels & resorts in Hawaii. A quick trip to a local grocery can help with beverages and snacks. There are also local restaurants that offer great “cheap eats.” We love the Kea Lani and were already thinking about our next visit.

From the moment we arrived, we felt like ohana with such a warm welcome and terrific service from every single staff person we encountered during our stay. The suite style rooms are amazing and allow you to really feel at home. The grounds are beyond beautiful and immaculate. I love having an adult pool area, but we mostly enjoyed the lounge chairs on the lawn facing the ocean. We even got to see some whales from that spot! Our dinner at Nick's Fishmarket was amazing and they made our anniversary very special. Yes, the food is pricey, but with the kitchenette, you can have snacks or a light breakfast handy too. The Willow Stream Spa was just incredible, can't say enough about the serenity and pampering there. We had been to Maui several times, but never in the Wailea area, and the Fairmont Kea Lani is now our go-to place for Maui! We cannot wait to return! Mahalo!

PROS: - The property is extremely beautiful and immaculately clean. - We were promptly greeted upon arrival with a lei and refreshing guava juice. - A pleasant surprise was that this is an all-suite property. My suite had a kitchenette that included a microwave and mini-fridge, a living room with a sleeper sofa, a large bathroom with 2 sinks, a bedroom with 2 closets and a large lanai/balcony with access from the living room and bedroom. - The required resort fee includes a 24-hour shuttle service to destinations within the Wailea area. We did not rent a car and this service proved to be invaluable when we chose to dine off property. - An umbrella & beach chairs are also included as part of the resort fee. We thoroughly enjoyed the beach and quick setup. - Service was prompt and friendly. We received several text messages throughout our stay inquiring on our satisfaction with offers to assist. CONS - Everything is relatively expensive so be prepared. Cocktails average ~$17 & salads ~20; be sure to inquire about the cocktail of the day which typically goes for ~$12. - Service is not provided for food & drinks on the beach. Go prepared with snacks & beverages if you intend to stay on the beach for a while. - The adult pool is surrounded by cabanas in prime locations for daily rental (~$200 full day/~$125 half day), which made it a challenge to find lounge chairs poolside. If you want to sit poolside, go early, rent a cabana, or be prepared to lounge in the chairs on the grass behind the pool, which were not a bad alternative.
