Hotel Wailea in Wailea, Hawaii

Hotel Wailea is an enviable destination-within-a-destination in the acclaimed resort community of Wailea where suites made up of coral and limestone walls, bleached white oak floors and sustainably farmed Ohia wood from Hawaii's Big Island feel like your own homey beach house. Even though the suites are equipped with SubZero appliances, dining options will lure you from your hillside retreat: Artisanal cocktails at The Cabanas are mixed with homemade syrups and sodas, and the Zagat five-star Capische? prepares every element in its gourmet marriage of farm-fresh Italian and French flavors from scratch.

Watch over the tropical coastline from your private balcony as the sun rises. Snorkel in tranquil waters. In the afternoon, indulge in a traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage, which is named after the kneading motion a contented cat makes with its paws. Dine on roasted Shelton Farms chicken with Molokai sweet potato confit.

The only con here is that the hotel itself is not right on the beach. That said, I would not even consider staying at a different hotel on my next trip to Maui. The front desk, the valets, bartenders, wait staff, room staff - everyone- provided exceptional service. Every single person we came in contact with seemed to actually care about our stay and went out of their way to provide great service. the drinks were great and the morning breakfast was fantastic. We did not eat there for dinner, though we had lunch a time or two at the pool. It's an adults only property and very private which was a huge plus. We did have a rental car, though the hotel provides a free shuttle to and from anywhere local including the beach so not being beachfront was not an issue at all. Amex Platinum Card set us up with extra amenities as well which was great.

We spent our 25th anniversary here last year and decided to come back! If you want your own private, quiet, serene piece of Maui then look no further than Hotel Wailea! We love this place and plan on coming back next year again! An ocean view is a must (we stayed in 084 both times) trust me you will not be sorry! The sunsets are amazing!! This place is truly special and the property is absolutely beautiful! Thanks to all the Hotel Wailea staff that made our time here special once again. See you guys again next year! Do not hesitate to book here if you want peace and quiet and your own little piece of Maui!

Great location with great views and staff. Particularly enjoyed the mixology class. Restaurant is okay with great views. The cabana service is wonderful. Only issue was slight mildewed smell in room. The staff are very professional and responsive.

The place lived up to its reputation. The grounds are magnificent and well maintained. The pool is cosy and the cabanas are wonderful. The suites are spacious and well designed. The restaurant has breath taking views. The food and service were extraordinary. The shuttle service was a bliss. Easy to use and very reliable. Getting to the beach was super easy. The staff of the beach club down there were superb in setting up the chairs and keeping us hydrated. We greatly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

Check in We were early and greeted at the hotel with a fresh flower lei for me and kukui nut lei for my husband. They told us to leave our bags in our car and they would bring them to our room when it became available. We went into town for a great lunch at South Maui Fish Company which is a food truck with tables and chairs. Delicious and not to be missed. Overall Great place to stay for a few days to recharge. If you’re going to be out all day sightseeing and just using the hotel to sleep then you shouldn’t waste your money here. This hotel is too beautiful not to be used. The restaurant although pricey was amazing! Ben our server took us through the menu. Everything we had was delicious and don’t leave out dessert. The room- Suite 213 The room is spacious clean and the bed is very comfortable. There is a small kitchen with and espresso maker that takes pods. Includes an assortment of pods plus tea an electric water kettle and half-and-half and sweetener. The turn down service was not consistent. The first night a mat was laid out next to the bed with slippers, fresh towels were replenished, shades were closed and cookies were left on the bed. The next night there was no mat by the bed. I assumed that the coffee mugs we used and were left in the sink would have been washed. Tidying up the kitchen would have been a nice touch. I had to wash them the next morning because when we ordered coffee with our room service they didn’t bring coffee mugs. Our room was on the end and there was a lot of noise from the traffic of maintenance and construction vehicles going by. The gardeners do a great job of keeping all the foliage beautiful but they keep a fell garbage bag at the end of the row which is just outside our Lanai. Some of these things may sound a little petty but I’m on vacation and this is not a timeshare and I want to share as many details as possible. The pool Loved the pool area! During the day you can get food and drinks there. Great service. At night there is a beautiful fire pit. Pros- Large room and Lanai. Staff is very friendly and accommodating No children Very romantic LGBT friendly Food is great. Lots of gluten free options. We had breakfast on the Lanai and ate at the restaurant (not to be missed) Beautiful pool area Hotel valet will drive you to the beach You can eat at the Four Seasons which is very close to where they drop you on the beach. We had a great lunch there. Hotel never feels crowded. You hardly ever see another guest unless you go to the pool or the restaurant. Cons- Although the food is very good it is expensive. Garbage bag is our view every morning off the lanai from the gardeners Room is on the end so there is noise from maintenance and construction crew traffic and garbage trucks Hotel Wailea hires an outside company to set up chairs and umbrellas at the beach. They stop working at 4 and they take your chair and umbrella away at 3:30 so they can leave by 4:00. No food or drink services on the beach We were told to tell our driver that it was our first time to the beach so he could escort us down. We told him and he pointed to the dirt path to follow down to the beach. When coming from a high end resort made us feel very common and took some of the experience away. With all this being said they’re gonna have to drag me out of here kicking and screaming.
