Hotel Wailea in Wailea, Hawaii

Hotel Wailea is an enviable destination-within-a-destination in the acclaimed resort community of Wailea where suites made up of coral and limestone walls, bleached white oak floors and sustainably farmed Ohia wood from Hawaii's Big Island feel like your own homey beach house. Even though the suites are equipped with SubZero appliances, dining options will lure you from your hillside retreat: Artisanal cocktails at The Cabanas are mixed with homemade syrups and sodas, and the Zagat five-star Capische? prepares every element in its gourmet marriage of farm-fresh Italian and French flavors from scratch.

Watch over the tropical coastline from your private balcony as the sun rises. Snorkel in tranquil waters. In the afternoon, indulge in a traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage, which is named after the kneading motion a contented cat makes with its paws. Dine on roasted Shelton Farms chicken with Molokai sweet potato confit.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Wailea and really loved it! We were a bit hesitant with it not being on the beach, but that turned out to be a relative non-issue. The hotel offers a personal shuttle to the beach (Mercedes SUV) and you just call them when you are ready to be picked up. We did that the first day and, unfortunately, the message never got to the valet and we wound up waiting nearly 30 minutes for them to come get us. There is a good amount of public parking at the Hotel Wailea Beach Club area, so we just took our own car after the first day. The beach is very nice and the Beach Club has complimentary lounge chairs, towels and water. The suites were absolutely wonderful. Very large with a separate kitchenette area, living room with sofas, large bedroom, huge bathroom, and large lanai. The kitchenette is very well equipped with a refrigerator, freezer with ice maker, microwave, toaster, Nespresso machine (with pods), dishes, glasses/cups, and silverware. The room was very clean and quiet, and views (if you have an ocean view room) are magnificent! The pool can get crowded, but if you're ok with sitting in full sun you can usually find a chair(s) any time of day. The fitness studio is great - several pieces of cardio equipment, nautilus machines, free weights and yoga mats, and cold towels and bottled water in the refrigerator. Dinner at the Restaurant at Hotel Wailea is outstanding. Service is impeccable, food is fantastic, and the view is stunning. Our server was Sole and he was just wonderful! The bar is also very nice. Chad knows how to make great drinks and great conversation! We wish we were locals because we would definitely be regulars here! The hotel is adult only, so it is very peaceful and quiet. The only thing missing is a spa. If it had one, we might have never left!

Best resort in Wailea with superior architecture and landscaping, top class restaurant, easy beach access with attendants on hand to assist, complementary local transportation, very friendly and accommodating staff.

We only had three nights on Maui and we are so pleased that we chose this hotel. From the outset the associates were so charming and helpful and that continued throughout our visit. Our suite was perfect overlooking beautiful gardens and providing perfect peace and tranquility. One evening we enjoyed in suite dining on our private lanai - the food and service was excellent. The Wailea is perfectly positioned in a quiet neighbourhood and the whole area felt very safe and relaxed. If we ever get the chance to return to Maui we would want to stay at the Wailea. Thank you.

The wife and I had several romantic days at the "adults only" Relais & Chateau Hotel Wailea. To be honest, my wife did the most research on this hotel and I didn't have any expectations upon arrival. I was pretty blown away! The welcoming service was awesome (lei and champagne!), bellman were super helpful, and Ashlee who greeted us was super friendly and knowledgeable (mahalo for the Mexican restaurant tips!). The resort is expansive and we had a chance to walk to our bungalow and check out the beautifully manicured grounds. Our bellman met us at our bungalow and when we opened the door I automatically told my wife WE WERE NEVER LEAVING! The suite was huge with a massive living room, full wet bar/kitchen (nespresso machine!) and a lanai that overlooked the ocean and the Molokini crater (I want that loveseat that was on the lanai). Our bedroom was also big with super comfy linen and the tub was enormous next to the huge shower. Great bathroom products (so the wife said). Probably one of the nicest "resort" style rooms I have ever spent time in. About ten minutes into checking out the room we were then greeted with a "Welcome" platter with lots of local fruit and treats. So Aloha! Pool area was pretty AMAZING, little cabanas and loungers (first come first served), towels and sun screen to use and even lots of floaties in the pool (loved the big swan, wife liked the pineapple!). The crew at the bar were super nice and knowledgeable (thanks for the iao valley tip!) and the drinks were strong and yummy. We pretty much had the pool to ourselves all day and we really enjoyed it (I think most guests drive around the island during the day but since we wanted to relax, the pool and jacuzzi was all ours!) (PS pool and jacuzzi open 24 hours!). After returning to the room to get ready for dinner the turn down service stopped by (left little macadamia nut cookies). We decided to try the restaurant especially as guests get an automatic reservation. It was superb! We liked that they try to source many of their ingredients from local Maui vendors. Also used the gym (also open 24 hours) that overlooked the ocean (only drawback was that I noticed one of the treadmills wasn't working but since I was the only person in the gym it didn't matter, haha). My wife and I also ordered room service for breakfast and that was yummy too (and on time) Even though the Hotel Wailea is up on the hill away from the beach (they have a car service that can take you to the beach as well as anywhere in Wailea) we really did want to just hang around the hotel. We were happy to just lounge at the pool and order drinks and room service. And with the great facilities of the hotel and the friendly staff, it really was a relaxing few days away from the hustle/bustle and traffic of Honolulu! Mahalo Nui Loa to the Hotel Wailea! It was an awesome stay and we loved it!

My wife and I just got back from a 5 night stay at the Hotel Wailea and it was grand. This hotel is a great place to get away and unwind. The service from beginning to end was exceptional. The room had everything we needed and more. The location was close to everything, but far enough away to be peaceful. The pool area was excellent. The ambience was fabulous and the employees all made you feel welcome. Thanks to all that made our stay a pleasure.
