Reviews for Wailea Beach Villas

Beware if you stay longer than 7 days

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We were staying in PH301 with a family of 8 and two weeks before we arrived they mentioned we would have to switch rooms half way through our stay. There are 5 kids under 8 with us and so they seriously expected us to move half way through the stay? Why didn't we know this before booking so we could have stayed elsewhere? Upon arrival, the property manager said she hasn't experienced anyone having to move during their stay and she said she would find out if she can make any changes to our reservation. We never heard back from her and I had to stop by the front desk to see if it was possible to not move. They said no but that they would help move all of our belongings to the new unit. Well moving day arrived and guess what, not a single person from the staff helped us move. It was even a fight to get a cart that we can put all of our luggage on. We also had to move the roll-a-ways across the entire property to the other side where our new unit is. You think they would apologize and give us a bottle of wine or champagne but they didn't do anything for us. The staff is nice upon arrival but after that, you will not see that nice side of them again. I am a Hyatt Globalist and have never been treated so poorly at a property. I do not recommend this place and would suggest looking at the other beautiful properties that are in the Wailea area.

This penthouse vila was perfect. It was very clean, updated decor and we loved the corner unit because of the indoor/outdoor living room area. The sliding doors were very easy to use. It’s in a great location to the Wailea shops and about a 5 min walk to the beach. We only had a small view of the ocean because of the lower floor but still a very pretty view.

Outstanding Wailea Villa Property

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

We have stayed several times at Wailea Beach Villas and can strongly recommend this property to visitors to the island. The penthouse apartments and villas are spacious and well-equipped and the level of service provided by the staff at the property is exceptional. They make you feel at home and one cannot ask for more.

All I can say is "wow"

"Wow" is all I can say about this property! We are frequent travelers to Maui and I can't imagine staying anywhere else in the future - everything from start to finish was fabulous. Rooms: We stayed in a 2 bedroom Garden View and it was ABSOLUTE perfection! Despite being the least expensive room offered, we still had a gorgeous view of the Family Pool and could still see the ocean (albeit from a bit of a distance). While it's true that the furnishings in individual units vary due to being owned by different property owners, we found ours to be extremely well appointed with beautiful - and comfortable - furnishings. The kitchen was a dream and had everything you could possibly need to cook in your unit. We also enjoyed dining on our lanai and the ability to host our own cookout on our Viking grill. The primary bedroom was massive with a beautiful walk-in closet, soaking tub, and shower. The second bedroom had two twins and was small, but it would be fine for kids. I believe you can request different room configurations based on availability - since my husband and I were traveling with my mother I believe we tried for two bedrooms with Kings or Queens, but we got a King in the primary and 2 twins in our second bedroom. No issue, though - the beds were comfortable! The second bathroom was also really nice with dual sinks and ample storage space. The in/unit washer dryer was also great. Everything about our room was absolute perfection and we enjoyed the privacy, it felt like our own oasis! Service: Remember, this is a condo property and not a full service resort, so if you are expecting to be pampered by the pool with food and beverage you'll be disappointed. However, all of the staff members we did interact with were extremely courteous especially the folks at the pool. They are more than happy to get you set up at the beach or with anything you need! We actually liked the lack of F&B service poolside because it meant we could bring our own food and drinks to the pool. Pools: Wow, wow, wow, WOW! These pools were phenomenal. As travelers without children, I LOVED that the adult pool was the superior pool at this complex. Usually you're pushed into a small corner pool in an undesirable location, but the adult pool was an absolutely breathtaking infinity pool next to the ocean. Children do need to walk through the pool to get from the beach to their room, but I only saw a few families attempt to use the adult pool. The family pool, however, is also EXTREMELY nice. While it's not on the ocean, it has a beautiful garden view and more comfortable seating including large loungers where you can lay out. My only complaint is that the hot tubs were way too hot to a point of being uncomfortable. Grounds: Grounds are stunning. They take care of the property and it shows. The best way to describe it is a tropical paradise, and the tiki torches lit up at night add to the beautiful feel of this resort. Very secure property with gated entry. Parking: Spots are very tight, but having a reserved indoor garage spot free of charge is a huge plus. No waiting for a valet or fighting for a parking spot. Location: Great location across from the mall in Wailea with upscale shops and restaurants. The property also connects to a beautiful, paved beachfront path where you can walk to all Wailea resorts and along the ocean. We enjoyed many walks around Wailea. Again, if you are expecting a resort loaded with family activities, an onsite restaurant and bar, etc. this is not where you should stay. However, if you're looking to stay in a world-class condo complex in one of the best areas of Maui, you'll never want to stay anywhere else again! Also, when I booked this property I had no idea they were part of Hyatt. 8 nights here got me to their second highest tier of their loyalty program, so I have been enjoying VIP status with Hyatt ever since!

Excellent property and staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 9 months ago

Excellent upscale beachfront villa/condo in Wailea. The property and staff exceeded expectations. Great beach, located adjacent to Shops at Wailea and other hotel restaurants. Attentive- our elevator had an issue one evening and repairman arrived on site in an hour. Would easily stay again.

The Wailea Beach Villas provided my family and me an ideal location while in Hawaii. The property's beautiful views and pleasant atmosphere were enhanced by the resort's obvious commitment to traditional Hawaiian hospitality.
