We stayed for 11 nights at the Fairmont Orchid. We have visited "Hawaii" a few times now and stayed on Kauai, Oahu and Maui. I think this is probably the best resort we have stayed at in recent years. Rooms and facilities were all immaculate, staff were attentive and polite, the proximity of the small beach to the pool made for a really pleasant experience. Many of the people with children chose the beach (lots of fish and turtles to amuse people of all ages) and when you no longer have to travel with children a quiet time by the pool is essential in between day trips around the island. I chose to do SUP Yoga 4 mornings and another Yoga class and the instructor Sarah was exceptional. During the evenings having a drink listening to music was lovely and there were several very good restaurants that we dined at. The only down side was that there was no on site laundry and no nearby Laundromat.

Excellent hotel!! Very cordial staff, excellent facilities, and great beach area. With the Fairmont Gold we enjoyed absolutely wonderful breakfast each morning and evening snacks. Honor bar was a nice addition. We were provided with snorkeling equipment and enjoyed watching the many different fish in and beyond the two protected coves. The beach had both shaded and sunny areas so we could absorb as much Sun as we liked. The grounds we amazingly beautiful along the several walking paths. Waterfalls, koi ponds, and plants made walking to the beach and pool area an excellent experience. We already are planning to return and would most definitely recommend anyone to consider the Fairmont Orchid.

We stayed here for one night and really enjoyed our stay. However, we were at their sister hotel Mauna Lani Bay and took a shuttle over here on a Saturday to check out their lu’au. Wonderful set up in a beautiful location. Open bar and the food was delicious. I specially love their poke options: octopus, ahi tuna and mussels! The entertainment was informative that told the story of how Hawai’i was found. Dancing and fire. What more could you ask for?! Fun for both kids and adults. Highly recommended.

This is our third visit to the Fairmont Orchid. Our first visit was for our honeymoon in October 2015. We were so impressed with the resort and staff that we returned for our first anniversary, and now for our second anniversary. Everyone here is so welcoming and helpful. Ciera at the check-in area made sure that we were set up in a lovely suite and even sent us a text a couple of days into our visit to see if we needed anything. We enjoy the pool area and also swimming and paddle boarding at the beach on the property. I visited the Spa Without Walls and had an incredible massage while my husband enjoyed a beverage poolside. The location, property, and most of all, the staff are excellent. We plan to return each year for our anniversary, and more often during the year if we can!

I stayed here with my wife for four nights in a Fairmont Gold Suite. Almost everything about this resort was of the highest standard. While it was quite full it never felt busy. The food at breakfast and all of the restaurants for dinner was very fresh and well presented. Almost all of the service was excellent, except for their casual restaurant Hale Kai where we seemed to continually be forgotten. You do pay for the quality of this resort but overall this is a really worthwhile place to stay on the Big Island of Hawaii.
