What a beautiful place Ettington Park Hotel and I thought what a delicious Afternoon Tea my friends and I are going to have. The savoury plate was very nice, delicious sandwiches and warm quiche and home made sausage roll. BUT then the Cakes/desserts .. well how disappointing.. because theCrème Brûlée was sooo bad, it came in a tiny dish .. no bigger then an egg cup.. and well there was no more the 1/2 a centimetre of crème.. the scones were the size of a 50 pence piece .. 2 very tiny fancy eclairs..I have tasted a lot of afternoon teas.. but today Ettington Park Hotel was very disappointing

We stayed for a weekend in the Stour Suite and fully recommend it, if you don’t mind stairs. Spacious, beautiful views, comfortable bed, quiet and packed with all sorts of complimentary treats, including a Nespresso machine. Staff without exception were welcoming and helpful, while dinner in the restaurant was excellent, with a good selection of wines. The spa was just what we needed to unwind, with clean pool, sauna, steam room & decent sized hot tub. Not too busy either, so we enjoyed it on both days. Imagine the grounds are even better in the Summer, but we revelled in the coziness of open fires & comfy chairs. Definitely go if you’re looking for a relaxed and friendly country house experience, with high quality food and drink but no pretension.

Fantastic service from Daimon, Giacomo, Roberto, Arthur and Alex. A lovely friendly team who were great fun and the afternoon tea was freshly baked and tasted out of this world! The hotel is beautiful and we will definitely return for an overnight stay

Yesterday was my 50th birthday and after a very tough and emotional week I woke up and decided I fancied a posh breakfast. I phoned up and asked if as a non resident I could buy a breakfast and was told yes I could and that I could also take my dog too! So my partner and I set off with doggy and were welcomed immediately on arrival and wished a happy birthday which was a nice touch. Our table was set in the lounge and looked really inviting. I decided to have a glass of champagne as it was a big occasion. Nothing was too much trouble and we were honestly treated like royalty. The staff were brilliant especially J the Irish lady. She will never realise just how much she made my day after a very tough week. Honestly a delicious breakfast, brilliant service and loveliest room to enjoy the garden view. As a little extra they also brought out a mini bday cake with Happy Birthday on the plate and a couple of sausages for our dog. It’s the small gestures that make such a huge impact. Great start to my bday, and just what I needed to cheer me up, thank you!!!

Lovely welcome with a cosy log fire in the foyer. Room and bathroom very nice and well appointed. Sadly, our room was miles from the pool and indeed the dining room, so we'd definitely request a different corridor next time. Food was good at dinner but service was incredibly slow. We waited over 45 mins for our starter. Ellie was the only person who really addressed the problem and presented solutions. Really top quality, thoughtful service from Ellie. Beautiful dining room, though wall lights are horribly glaring and white. Lighting could be much improved with shades and/or different bulbs. We felt the hotel experience was compromised by its busyness this week between Christmas and New Year. Children eating pasta in the same room as people trying to enjoy an elegant pre-dinner drink doesn't really work. And the breakfast buffet opposite a bar strewn with dirty plates wasn't attractive. Very nice waitress at breakfast, however.
