We stayed for 2 nights, as part of the celebration for my father in laws 80th birthday. The staff were fantastic and made the stay especially memorable. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home. A warm welcome, a handshake with introductions and guided around the hotel. The hotel is striking and approached via a long wooded driveway, with parking immediately adjacent to the hotel. Reception opens into the hotel and the impressive staircase. Some areas of the hotel, notably the carpets, are showing signs of wear but overall the decor and surroundings are charming. We made full use of all the facilities and especially the dining facilities. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff so friendly (thank you J). The breakfast is exceptional. High tea is delightful, dinner was wonderuflly flavoursome and all were plentiful. If you like great food you're in the right place. The rooms are spacious, quiet and well appointed. The beds are large and comfortable. The grounds are well maintained and (weather permitting) the pathways give an opportunity to explore beyond the hotel. The Spa area has an excellent (warm) pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Easy access from the hotel, with good accessibility for older, less mobile, guests. A wonderful stay in a delightful hotel with truly exceptional staff. Highly recommended.

I am drawn to this unique stately manor. The history absolutely fascinates me. Visited 11 years ago and returned with a different friend who loved it as much as my last traveling companion did. The rooms are comfortable, staff are friendly and professional yet ready to have a laugh. Food and drinks service excellent. A special thanks to Damon whom I met last visit. His history tour is an added bonus! Very informative and amusing. This is a special place to stay. The pool and spa are lovely for relaxing. Highly recommend .

We really enjoyed our recent stay at this very atmospheric hotel, with its lovely grounds and interesting history. The room was comfortable, the food (both at dinner and breakfast) was delicious, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The hotel is quietly located, but close to many local attractions.

I can not believe that a hotel that on its breakfast menu goes on about its eggs then has the nerve to serve POWDERED EGGS FOR ITS SCRAMBLED EGGS Revolting is an over statement If you needed a reason not to stay that’s the one I choose Then actually not shamed to tell you Seriously it’s so quick to make scrambled eggs as quick as fried poached boiled so what’s with the powdered eggs How any dining establishment would even want to have these in their kitchen Disappointed and disgusted
