Good location for tourists or business, next to both Georgetown and institutions. Good room size, very clean, well appointed rooms, good quality stuff. Very comfortable beds and good services. Breakfast in the restaurant downstairs is good but I would rather go for the a la carte rather than the buffet. Too pricey for the offer. Just good to know you can order any eggs with it. Also heard the fitness was great too. Staff very professional and courteous.

Simply put...I so enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont! Our immediate and extended family were in town for a wedding and this was one of the host hotels for the weekend. As a new and first-time mother, I was so nervous to travel with a baby. The Fairmont made our stay very feasible, easy, and comfortable. First, my impression of the hotel was that upon entering it had a great ambiance. The lobby was fresh and chic. There are many places to sit in the lobby as well at the bar. There is also a great courtyard for relaxing on a nice day. All of the staff members were kind and helpful. Our spacious room was lovely and had a king bed with a sitting area and table with enough room for a crib too (provided by the hotel). The crib came with appropriate crib sheets. We also asked for a mini fridge to keep milk cold for the baby. What I liked about this room is that it was indeed spacious...and when you are traveling with a baby you NEED space! The bathroom was also well appointed and had plenty of space too. Baby hack idea - the room had both a coffee maker and electric tea kettle. We used the tea kettle by pouring the very hot water into the ice bucket to help sanitize baby products. And the counter space in the bathroom was needed to dry bottles after being washed. Because we were new parents and our morning routine with baby didn't allow us to get out for breakfast, we ordered room service everyday. I enjoyed their room service breakfasts! My favorite was the energizer breakfast. Our orders always arrived on time and were always delicious. As for the location of the hotel, I liked that it was close to both Georgetown and DuPont Circle. I noted that there were several other hotels in the immediate area which would be good if you were traveling with a larger group with different price points. This was such a wonderful stay at the Fairmont and I would gladly stay at this hotel again!

We stayed at the Fairmont DC because we had enjoyed a very favorable family visit to the Fairmont in Vancouver. The Fairmont DC hotel was just as amazing--this is a 5 star hotel by any measurement. The rooms(we had the Capital corner suite connected to a double queen) were impeccable---very spacious, high end furnishings and top notch bathroom, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and couch--they actually look better than the photos. The front desk made it a point to make sure our rooms connected and that we could have later check out. We ordered room service a few times and it was prompt, accurate, and delicious. We had a wonderful experience with the front desk manager and the concierge--Cortez and Chris--they handled reservation requests perfectly and they were very friendly. The location is best of both worlds--its not too far from the Mall but quieter than alot of the hotels right near the Mall and it is walking distance to Georgetown. We ended our visit with brunch at the restaurant--the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating-we could not have asked for a better stay. As a result of this experience and our experience in Vancouver we will make it a point to stay at Fairmont hotels.

For a Fairmont the service was very poor. People had a very Non-Trump attitude and to be in Washington DC I think this reflected very poorly on the Fairmont. Would not recommend this location to anyone.

Stayed here in mid Sep for a 4 day sightseeing tour of Washington. Our marvellous experience started before we even arrived with the marvellous Shirrita who helped me with the booking and I happened to mention it was an anniversary trip for my wife. A very thoughtful gift was left in the room for us on arrival. This is a very modern, clean and beautifully laid out hotel with all of the amenities you could wish for. The reception area, bar and courtyard garden were really pleasant places to visit and all of the staff who we encountered - room maid, reception, concierge etc - were all so friendly and helpful. There were plenty of lifts and up to our room. It was enormous! Large windows letting in plenty of light, highlighting the beautifully decorated room. We had a very large and comfortable bed, good lighting for reading, a couch in front of the large flat screen TV, an office area, a lovely comfortable armchair and coffee table, bedside tables, plenty of clothes space and it was exceptionally clean. There was an ironing board and iron, hairdryer, bath robes, a room safe, a great coffee machine with proper mugs and very tasty coffee. The bathroom was equally spacious and clean with a good shower over the bath and plenty of good quality toiletries. The location was perfect for us, nice and quiet and away from the hustle & bustle of the city centre but within walking distance of the National Mall and most of the sights/attractions etc. If we were tired, we simply used the Metro bus or Subway to Washington Circle which was only a 5 minute walk away. There is an abundance of cafes and restaurants nearby catering for all tastes and budgets. My only less favourable compliment would be the price of items in the mini-bar - why do hotels do it? I'm sure they would make more profit by selling in larger quantities if they price things a little more realistically. This last comment does not detract however from this being the most pleasant hotel we have stayed in. A little more expensive than we'd normally pay, but boy was it worth it. Any questions about the hotel or it's proximity to sights, please feel free to mail me.
