Checked in late and was given a room that is very far away from the elevator. Asked for something else but they had nothing else. Rooms are renovated but not entirely. Lighting is poor and bathroom still has the old shower in the bathtub style. Shower head looks very cheap and towels were placed at the other end of the shower bathtub. I took a Signature room which is supposedly better but only in terms of size. The staffs are not friendly, just very superficial. Housekeeping service is really poor. The replenishment of the toiletries was very inconsistent. Sometimes they do sometimes they don't, which is very annoying that you have to call and ask them something that should have been provided. It feels really like a half baked job. Also, they didn't even clean the toilet and spray the shower. Based on the experience, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone I know or even come back. People should learn to do their job better especially knowing that the guests don't pay the rooms cheap. The hotel does not really welcome people to have great experience so that people will return. It feels like if you are not their regulars and pay for a Gold room, you will have 50-50 chance of having bad service like me. I would say that the GM should have done a better job in training the staffs.

The breakfast was wonderful, so much choice and the service excellent. Our dinner one night was superb. The beds and pillows are somewhat too soft for my liking and the visit was marred a little by billing errors, finally resolved.

Hotel was stunning. Bed was large, very comfy and room was spacious. Staff were helpful and great with recommending places to go. Reasonable price, especially considering the standard of the hotel. Very nice room to stay in for the duration of our time in D.C!

This hotel's location is fantastic, just a $10 cab ride to the major museums and other attractions. We were on the Gold Floor. The Lounge staff, including the manager, were amazingly courteous, warm, welcoming and extremely accommodating. We always look forward to the quality of food at Fairmont Washington DC: it's truly one of the best amongst Fairmont hotels in North America. The Gold staff had been touch with us several days prior to our arrival and looked after our airport transfers very efficiently. A special call out to the manager, Opal and Patricia! On the early morning of our departure (5:30 am), we met Opal at the hotel entrance while we were waiting for our transport to arrive, and she stayed there and ensured that all arrangements proceeded smoothly. We shall certainly return...very shortly.

Very clean rooms, nice people, but there are no real free amenities. You even have to pay for Internet in your room. There is a workout center that you can use, but other than that, if you want something you have to pay for it. Want a glass a wine at the bar? Be prepared to pay $20 for it. And so it goes...
