Reviews for The Graham Georgetown

Very disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We vey much looked forward to our fifth stay at The Graham and were very disappointed for the following reasons 1 Our room was small and next to the elevator and so therefore noisy 2 The AC had not yet been turned on and we weren't informed that the portable unit (which took up much of the floor space) was not a dehumidifier 3 On our only full day there we returned to the room at 5 PM and housekeeping had not come. They came after being called but this disrupted our chance to rest 4 Our room safe stopped functioning and could not be opened. A very nice engineer came and had to drill it open. The hour spent with this that morning ruined our plans 5 I very nicely explained all this to the desk person Tiffany, who was quite dismissive and offered a TWENTY FIVE dollar credit. Seriously??? She wouldn't even comp our 50 dollar bar bill 6 We emailed and called the manager, Christopher, to discuss these issues and still haven't heard back This would have been a 1 star review except for the lovely Bellman and nice rooftop bar. Also the location is great

Would recommend depending on your tax bracket

My family stayed here to visit me b/c I work in DC. I’ve also stayed here with my family before. I called the hotel and asked if I could park here while I ate breakfast with my family. I accepted the charge to my family’s room, but when attempting to park, the valet was unbelievably rude to me. Honking at me and yelling at me while I waited for him to valet my vehicle. He ignored my vehicle, perhaps due to my DC license plate, and I sat there for 10 minutes waiting for him to acknowledge that I even existed. In the meantime, he loaded up another guests -bag, while I waited for him to park my car, a service for which my family paid for. Regardless, he never acknowledged me, and walked into the hotel lobby without valeting my car. Even further, when I arrived at the Graham the next day to see my family before they departed dc, the valet, again, refused to park my car and ignored my existence (letting the door slam in my face after holding it open for my sister, who was a guest). While I had a great experience as a guest from out of state, I had an extremely disappointing experience with the Graham as a DC resident. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values common decency or any general sense of hospitality.

Definitely not a 4 star hotel

The rooms are average, but definitely not worth the price. I was travelling internationally on business and there is no food at all in the hotel - they incorrectly advertised room service which isn't available and there's no restaurant or even breakfast provision. Despite my company pre paying, I had to pay $150 on my personal card when checking in and since returning they've charged $20 randomly with no explanation - when I contacted the hotel via email 5 days ago I received no response and still haven't. Really unimpressive and certainly not worth the price - stay down the road in a better hotel with actual provisions.

Falsely claims room service and meals available in-house. Beware.

The Graham markets itself as a four star boutique hotel, but it doesn’t have the services to justify the marketing, and it falsely continues to claim it has room service available for breakfast and dinner. It is a decent enough hotel, but if you are staying over a holiday (Christmas) and need to eat and the hotel has no open restaurant, well, that’s part of staying in a hotel was supposed to provide. Not OK.

Sleepless in Washington

There was scaffolding erected directly outside our window s and drilling works and hammering started everyday at 7am. When we brought this up with the receptionist she was hostile and refused to help and even after we suggested she switch our rooms she became more obstinate .
