I travel extensively and I would rate the Jefferson among the very best hotels in the world! The service was exceptional across the board and the location is in the heart of the action in D.C.. My suite was a private and cozy oasis with a comfortable sitting room parlor and deep soaking tub. The Quill Bar is a delight with outstanding cocktails, tasty bites, top-notch service and an intimate atmosphere. Mike the bartender makes a delicious martini and the Quill burger and oysters are a must. The Jefferson makes every guest feel special and every aspect of my experience was exceptional. I did not want to leave and cannot wait to return! The Jefferson is my go-to in D.C.!

The Jefferson DC is a true gem situated at the top of Embassy Row but still convenient to all of the sites. After being a Hilton loyalist and staying at many properties in the city, this may just be my home base from now on after the hospitality and level of service The Jefferson and its team demonstrate for a five-star hotel. Being there during Christmastime also brought that extra level of magic to this property! The decorations are exquisite from the moment you walk in and carry into The Greenhouse restaurant, The Quill, and book room Be sure to stop by the concierge to learn about the history of the property along with the documents displayed in the lobby area signed by Thomas Jefferson. We were graciously upgraded from a classic to a deluxe room and this is another reason why this property is special. They have thought of every little touch. A complimentary shoe shine, filtered water in glass bottles, incredible robes and slippers, lovely bathroom amenities, a tv in the bathroom mirror (yes you read that correctly!), a very nice turndown service, a large closet, furnishings and decor, and twice a day housekeeping. The beds are great! We had drinks and apps at The Quill which were so so fun and delicious as well as oysters that were fantastic. Breakfast at The Greenhouse was WOW. The avocado toast was a piece of artwork and the crispy potatoes were a fun play on hash browns. All in all we had the very best stay and met wonderful people who make The Jefferson DC a superb property from the doormen to new food and bev manager. Thank you for a fabulous visit!

The staff at The Jefferson is superb. The doormen, bell staff and reception team offered a VIP welcome and ensured that our every need was fulfilled. Our room was well-appointed and spacious. Our expansive bathroom was equipped with dual sinks, a soaking tub and a generous shower. The Jefferson is centrally located. Walk on fine days or access the best of Washington (White House, Capitol, Smithsonian Museums, Kennedy Center, Georgetown, shopping, dining) with a 5-10 minute cab ride. The Greenhouse restaurant provides a lovely brunch and lavish breakfasts, both with thoughtful, attentive service. The cast-iron baked eggs are a must at brunch. We tremendously enjoyed a nightcap at Quill, the Jefferson’s cozy bar. Take time to savor the Jefferson’s historic details. The marquee over the front door is both embracing and dramatic, and the lobby is stately. The Book Room is a quaint library filled with reproductions of 17th and 18th century books, supplemented by recent volumes written and signed by guests of the hotel. Most strikingly, documents signed by Thomas Jefferson, including presidential papers and a salary cheque to his coachman, are displayed in a hallway off the lobby. The hotel has its own historian, who is available to the public from 9 am — 1 pm on Saturdays. We look forward to returning to this exceptional hotel.

My family enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at the Greenhouse dining room with drinks later at the Quill, fun and historic. Manager Sasha made our multi day trip very smooth and pleasant. The intimate Jefferson stands apart from other hotels in DC.

The Jefferson is a great hotel. It’s historic, extremely well appointed and comfortable, in a great central location. The staff went above and beyond to anticipate every need. I expected a five star hotel and it met my high expectations .
