The Jefferson is a beautiful hotel, and their staff is exceptional. I’ve had the privilege of traveling extensively and staying at some of the world’s best hotels, and the manager, Omar, is in a class of his own. He was warm, hospitable, and friendly. He remembered us by name, and we genuinely looked forward to seeing his smiling face after a long day of exploring the city. Ultimately, the people are what make an experience memorable, and his attention to detail and professionalism is why this hotel stands apart.

The Jefferson is the best hotel in Washington, period. It is elegant, yet not stuffy; the staff is caring and well-trained, and the facilities are relaxing. The best feature by far is the attentive staff, from reception to waiters and hostesses: all are extremely professional and courteous. The rooms vary in size, but all are comfortable. The room my wife and I stayed in had a large closet and drawers, truly scarce now in hotels designed for short stays. We stayed for five days and the closet and drawers were absolutely a necessity. The Greenhouse (dining room) offers a delightful breakfast and The Quill (the bar) comes alive at night. My favorite part of the hotel: the Library! Small but with a great selection of books. Due to weather issues in February and March we had to extend our reservations twice, and, sure enough, on both occasions the staff worked to allow us to stay, and to stay in the same room. We have been staying at The Jefferson for many years, and, it has become our home away from home. The caring staff are its soul.

The Jefferson is our favorite hotel in Washington DC. The room was beautiful. The food was delicious both in the restaurant and room service. The staff were all 5 stars. They were lovely , helpful and very polite. I highly recommend this hotel for any length of stay in DC. Truly, my husband and I think it is the best in the city!

Delivers an intimate, highly refined experience centered on service and classic elegance rather than full resort amenities. While the hotel does feature a small, serene spa and a well equipped fitness center that is clean, thoughtfully stocked, and convenient, it notably lacks a pool, something some travelers expect at this price point. Dining is a standout strength, with The Greenhouse and Quill Bar frequently praised for high quality breakfasts, cocktails, and consistently excellent service, making the hotel a destination for food as much as lodging. Overall, it excels as a quiet, service-driven luxury stay with exceptional dining, but its limited wellness amenities make it feel more like a refined city boutique hotel than a full-service resort.

What can I say? 10/10 experience. I was in a suite. The room was quiet and well appointed. The bathroom was roomy, with a spectacular shower. The mattress was the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. The staff was friendly and warmly greeted us every time we encountered them. Check in was efficient and allowed us to check in early. We had breakfast twice at the restaurant. It is good, but not outstanding. It’s reliable, and the servers are professional. Our meals were prepared quickly. The hotel’s location is in an area convenient to the capital, monuments, and the Cap arena. The Jefferson is our go-to every year when we visit DC for a hockey game.
