This is my second stay at The Jefferson and it was great. Our family’s first stay was excellent, as well (we very much enjoyed the Michelin restaurant back in the day). The Jefferson has the best shower, comfortable beds, good pillows, and great service. The food was great and the historian’s tour a highlight.

My wife and I decided to spend the week of our anniversary in Washington, D.C. We considered many hotels before deciding on The Jefferson. We are so glad that we booked this establishment. It was immaculate, luxurious, and had impeccable service. Without a doubt it was one of the best I have ever stayed in. Here are some details. Before booking a room, my wife called the hotel because they allow dogs and I am highly allergic. The representative was very pleasant and assured her that we would be given a room that had not been occupied by any pets. We found out when arriving that, not only had they honored their word, but that we were upgraded to a beautiful suite. When I say beautiful, I mean it was flawless. Comfortable bed, no odors, soaking tub, top-notch furniture, every amenity, etc. The service was equally top-notch. Our luggage was promptly brought to our room. Merideth even lent us a charging cable for my wife’s phone because she left hers at home. That was going above and beyond. We decided to eat at the Quill (a cocktail bar in the hotel). Our steaks and salads were cooked, presented, and seasoned perfectly. In fact, we frequented the Quill during our stay and sampled different entrees. Breakfast at the Greenhouse restaurant was equally impressive, with service at both excellent. Housekeeping was the best I have ever encountered. Every day when we returned to the room it was as fresh as the day we checked in. The concierges dining recommendations and comments were helpful and quite accurate. I frequently ran into Omar who was always helpful. The owner and general manager should be applauded for maintaining such a high level of perfection. We will be back. Many thanks to everyone we encountered. Your efforts were much appreciated.

Love the Jefferson. First class service all the way around. Beautiful hotel. Great restaurant too. Great for business.

The Jefferson is clean, well-staffed, generally pretty in an old-world sort of way, including a very beautiful sky-lit central restaurant, and an elegant library, which is probably especially nice in the winter. We appreciated the cold water offered at the door and both make-up and turn-down services, the latter of which included a fresh bucket of ice. And the bed was comfortable, as were the robes and slippers. Even though the breakfast area did not open until 8 AM, there was fresh coffee available in the library by 5:30. It is very surprising, however, that a hotel of this calibre does not feature a Nespresso maker, or any kind of coffee maker, in the room. I've been to many hotels in the last two years, and coffee in the room has become expected. The decor was also a little run down. For example, the leather foot board of the bed was torn in many places. Surprising as well was that the mini-bar did not feature any wine --just hard alcohol and pre-mixed cocktails. And there were no utensils.

Excellent hotel; staff, and location All staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Best concierge ever in Paul Levermore and Cynese at checkin was especially helpful. We were treated like old friends and we hope to visit again soon.
