So...I booked this hotel because it was close to a conference venue, I loved the chandeliers in the pictures, and there was lap pool access at the University was truly a beautiful hotel... Super fancy - almost too fancy for me - if there is such a thing... It was a great stay - my room was super small, but unique and fine for space for just me. My only disappointment was that I didn't have a chandelier in my Comfy bed and pillows/linens. Staff were great. It rained quite a bit, but everything was within walking distance and they had umbrellas for you.

Stayed here for three nights on business. This is a lovely boutique style hotel, with modern rooms but with a sense of tradition. The basic rooms are quite cosy, so we upgraded to a suite - which was great. The bar is cosy and great, the restaurant (which we only breakfasted at) really nicely laid out and would be great for dining if we had had time. But the best thing about the hotel for me was that it oozes history and tradition, whilst keeping up with the times in respect of style, service and class. Much better than experiencing a huge hundreds of rooms type place, and with very helpful service to match. Will be my favoured hotel in future visits to Washington DC.

Upon entering the lobby you just know that you have hit the "big time". This lovely hotel has ambiance that you just do not feel in the newer hotels...and while it may appear to be a bit "stuffy" it certainly makes up for in the quality service and food.

A small hotel is always my preference especially when in a large city like Washington. I appreciated the exceptional attention to detail throughout the hotel and by the staff. The suite and dining room were designed, appointed and maintained superbly. Bathing in the bathtub was divine as it was the first hotel bathtub in my experience that was not too long. Having easy and quick access to the valet parking made coming and going hassle free.

My husband surprised me with a visit to DC and booked us at The Jefferson and it was so lovely from start to finish. The check in process was relaxed. The room was lovely with the most comfortable bed I have slept in at a hotel. The staff were pleasant and accommodated every request. I got a massage at the spa and it was heaven. The last time I had a massage that wonderful, I was in Cambodia at the Raffles Hotel in Angkor. You can't beat the location and it provides easy access to many restaurants and cafes. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to splurge on their visit to DC.
