We stayed here as a family, with young kids. We chose the hotel because of the location to both Union Station (5min walk - few blocks) and the Hill/monument area, and also for its rooftop pool, which is nice with DC summers. A few days before we arrived, we got a message about certain adult only activities happening that weekend, which limited our access to the pool. While we were disappointed by this, we chose to keep our reservation. They were very accommodating about our requests for fridge and checking in early, and other small things that make a difference as far as our family's comfort. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would have given the hotel 5 stars, but the adult activities meant that there were a bunch of drunk people exiting the hotel Sunday evening, which was just a complete annoyance - never mind having to explain to my kids why these folks were being loud and saying stupid things, or just flat out stumbling around drunk. I don't knock a lot off for this because they did warn us beforehand and also it was only a moment when we crossed paths with the crowd while entering. The other inconvenience was that we left after our first night and came back to a room that hadn't been serviced. Service came around after 6pm but at that point I told them we didn't need it and were in the room. I was really hoping the room be freshened up by the time we got back to the room. The service person was super friendly and it seemed like they had a lot of rooms, and changed out our towels and took our trash etc. I think it's more a reflection of management and making sure they are staffed properly during busy periods, especially if they have a lot of families, which there seemed to be. Overall, though we enjoyed our stay, the location can't be beat, and the pool and rooftop bar is great during the summer. The hotel itself is also very clean and more chic in its design, which makes it nicer than some of the older area hotels.

Overall hotel was a good place for our family to stay but a few words of caution. This seems to be a place for a young crowd which is fine but they will close off pool to anyone under 21. Not great when you are traveling with kids who want to swim. Their opt out of housekeeping policy is not worth it. Get your room cleaned everyday. Close walk to union station and Capitol.

We booked the hotel wanting a family friendly fun hotel and picked this hotel because it had a pool, but it was restricted from kids most of the time. This is a great hotel for young adults wanting to party.

We will not return to this hotel. We had stayed here in 2015 because of location and convenience to Capitol Area but with Metro this is no longer attractive. The small sandwich shop, The west wing cafe, is one of the reasons we stayed there again.

The staff at Liaison was friendly and helpful, with the hotel located closely to the subway and bus stops. Everything was clean and comfy, but we our bedroom was right below the fitness room. I have a weird sleeping schedule and light sleep, so if you are the same way, be aware. Being located in Capitol Hill, night options are scarce, which is easily remediated by the closeness to the train station.
