I booked a room through with a valid credit card. The hotel checked my credit card and it was denied. The reservation was then cancelled. They sent me an email to that effect which I didn't see because I was travelling. A phone call or text would have been more direct. I rebooked a room when I arrived with the same credit card. In the room there were several pieces of trash behind the nightstand left by a previous guest.

I was excited to be visiting Washington, DC and spending a few days near the local tourist spots. I was very disappointed in my hotel. The room was spacious and clean however the noise from the hall and other rooms was unacceptable. I stayed on the 7th floor far from the elevators. Several times my sleep was disturbed from guest talking loudly in their rooms or just visiting in the hall way. It's a great location near all the tourist spots but left a lot to be desired as far as places to eat and drink at the hotel. In fact, I walked across the street to the Hyatt for drink and bar food. Half the price and lots of space to socialize and visit. On the corner is a liquor store with a deli upstairs. Great deli food and even better prices. On the other corner is the West Wing Cafe which has anything you could want. Hotel is very close to Columbus Circle. The hotel charges a $25 a day resort fee yet the roof pool area was closed off and I'm not sure what else they would consider resort since the seating in the lobby is very small. Same goes for eating areas.

Watch out for resort fees (which gets you internet and bottled water = rediculous) above the booking price and their so-called "green" program which means basically you get no room services (bed made up; towels; etc) unless you do the legwork and ask for it each day. For the money you pay, they should provide FULL services without a visitor having to ask. Vacation becomes a job.

Took the kids there on our annual museum crawl in DC. Restaurant was closed for the week, jackhammers started at 6:30 in the morning, maid service knocked on our door every morning before 8 AM... on a good note the rooms were clean and nice and spacious. Staff very friendly even when waking you up. They gave us free Internet for the inconvenience of the restaurant being closed but really, free internet? It's not 1992... would not rule out as an option just could have been much better
