The staff at the hotel was very kind, however the accommodations did not live up to the description or expectation. The property is obviously old and in need of renovations. My room was large and comfortable, but there was a smoky and mildew smell in the room and bathroom, as well as in the hallway. The wallpaper in the halls was peeling, and the ceilings seemed really low. They charge a daily resort fee for internet access (did not use), access to the rooftop pool (could not use because it was closed), and "complimentary bottle of water" (did not drink). The guest agent at check out did offer to refund one day of the resort fee, but honestly both days should have been refunded. This was not a four star experience, more like 2 1/2 or 3 maybe.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The rooms are lushly accommodated with great bedding, towels and beds. The rooftop pool and bar were great with fantastic staff. The only hesitation I had was upon arrival. We walked in from Union Station and were initially hesitant about the condition of the exterior windows, that give the hotel a shabby/old look. The HUGE trash bin in the driveway, didn't help. But from the moment we walked inside, all of that dropped away and we loved it and the staff. Definitely worth a visit.

The hotel was so amazing & the location even greater. It was close to so many things & the staff was pleasant. Would definitely recommend to stay here again. One of the best hotels I have stayed at so far

We RARELY get away for dates and overnight events away from the kids. Had an amazing opportunity to attend a concert downtown and booked a night at the Liason. Normally I would ride the metro into town, but decided to drive in and take advantage of the on site parking. We arrived and were welcomed by the valet staff, got help with bags and were checked in and heading to our room without delay. We were even early and the room was prepped and ready. There was a card from the guest services team welcoming us, and provided contact information if we needed any help (there was a DELICIOUS fruit and cheese tray also) Before the show we had enough time to attend the happy hour activities on the rooftop pool. Such an awesome perk! After a great show at the Verizon center, We made it back in time for the weekend "late night pool party"- had a couple drinks and made it back to our room for the evening. All in all, Great experience and would recommend and go back again

Great atmosphere in the hotel lobby and bar, a friendly, quick and helpful staff, and most importantly to me, a comfortable and clean room, with plenty of space, luxurious bedding, double curtains for privacy and black-out light, and bedside table outlets. This is a great location within walking distance to the US Capitol and to Union Station. I will stay here again!
