We stayed at The Liason the first week of November. Nice hotel, the staff were friendly and it was a good price for it's location. The reason it receives only two stars is because of added charges on my bill that were not mine! At check out my receipt showed a charge for "grab and go" breakfasts. I was at the hotel with my daughter. Her breakfast was provided by the conference she was attending and I had bought food at a nearby carry out. In the four days we were there we never stepped foot in the restaurant or had a "grab and go breakfast." After the front desk clerk could not find a manager to discuss the issue with she agreed to remove the charge. But if I had not looked carefully at my receipt it would have been billed to me. Then when I got home I looked at my credit card statement and I see they have added a $6 charge that was not on my bill and not on my receipt ever. To add insult to injury it was billed for the day after I checked out. I called the hotel and talked to someone in billing and was informed it was for a $6 bottle of water that they put in the room. I did see the bottle in the room and it clearly had a tag on it that told you it costs $6. We did not drink the $6 bottle of water. Again, we went to a carry out nearby and bought much cheaper water! I told them I did not drink the water and that it was even charged for the day after I left. The woman I talked to said she would credit my credit card back the $6 and also tell management. It has been almost a week now and the credit to my credit card account has not been made. Although it was only $6, it was the second time this hotel billed me for false charges! If you choose to stay there check you bill and your credit card statements! I will be returning to DC in the Spring but will not be staying at this hotel!

Stayed here on business with my wife. This is an older hotel in a great location within walking distance of Grand Central Station, The Capital, Newseum and many other sites. BigBus On/Off tour bus stops right in front of the hotel. We found the hotel to be clean, and relatively quiet. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It appeared to have an even mix of tourists and business people. Close to one of the best restaurants in DC, Bistro Bis, right around the corner from the hotel.
