We got so lucky with this hotel - bid on it blindly through Priceline. Lovely, historic charm, comfortable beds, quiet, quiet, quiet. This hotel is in a perfect location - not far from anything. We want to give an extra shout-out to the staff - they were outstanding. An extra-special thanks to the doorman who found us umbrellas to carry throughout our stay. We were happy to be walking advertisements for the hotel - we were DRY!

They made us feel right at home. I'd like to especially note that our first impression of the hotel was with the manager in the lobby greeting us and Babou at the front desk. Great start! Babou was most accommodating and took good care of us. We also worked with two concierges, Milan and Innocent, both of whom helped us with arrangements around town. But, really, every member of the staff made us feel most welcome. The hotel is tastefully decorated and clean. The lobby's scented air is a nice touch in a big city (where smells can be unpleasant!). Room was large and very comfortable.

The rooms are comfortable and fit the theme of Washington DC. Everything is extra when you stay at this hotel: $59 a night for parking, $25 a night for a roll-away bed. And don't even move the snacks with sensors on them...$9 for a bottle of water! I wanted to keep some water bottles cold in the refrigerator but it was full of items for sale. The location was good. We felt safe walking a few blocks for dinner and to Whole Foods. It's about a 20 min. walk to the White House.

Staff treated the guests as if they were an intrusion from check in throughout the entire stay. Slow service even by Washington standards. No 24 hour room service. Offered paid wifi service but did not work. Deffinately not worth the price.

Maddison is near Logan circle.Bit of a walk to metro. Only parking offered is valet only at 50 bucks a night. Lots of construction all around it when we were there. Staff is helpful and polite but they were not aware of the metro they were sending people to was closed for repair. it forced people to walk out of their way several blocks or get a cab. Did not eat at hotel restaurant. No resturants close by for late night food. Closest was old Emmit several blocks away
