Treated like a VIP at The Madison!

I had a lovely stay at Le Meridian, The Madison. From a warm welcome at check-in to the restaurant and lounge, all of the staff was welcoming. They knew it was my birthday week and I was treated like a VIP. I'll definitely be back.

Visiting Washington DC

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Our stay at Le Meridien Washington DC The Madison, was excellent! The room was spacious and bright, very clean and had a wonderful street view. Staff was extremely helpful and kind with lots of suggestions for our visit. One thing that was missing in the breakfast area and should definitely be added is a sign with the allergen ingredients of every product served. As we have a nut allergy, it was difficult for us to safely choose what to eat. It would also be a good idea to put a mini fridge in the rooms. Apart from that, it was a very pleasant stay and we would definitely recommend it!

Solid DC hotel with a fresh look

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I’ve stayed at this Le Meridien countless times — it’s practically my second home. Located right in the heart of DC , it’s a solid choice for business travelers (and tourists.) The property used to be a Hilton, later operated as The Madison under Marriott, and was rebranded as Le Meridien after a full renovation last year. So rooms and lobby all look fresh. However, this LeMeridien doesn’t feel like there are any French connection from its brand roots with Air France. Front desk agents are efficient and friendly, and chat requests get quick responses. There’s a lounge/club offering breakfast and hors d’oeuvres on weekdays. It’s small and simple but does the job. Club attendants are very nice. Rooms are larger and newer than most nearby Marriott or Hilton options, though hallway and A/C noise can be noticeable. They also do not offer elite upgrades that much (partly due to my stay patterns with 4 or 5 nights at a time.) But I did get my junior suite once as a Titanium without using upgrade certificates. Those suites on the 15th-floor Penthouse level are definitely much quieter - but I only got the room without city view. The restaurant and bar are average but reasonably priced, with plenty of Michelin-recommended spots within walking distance. Service isn’t always detail-oriented (often found housekeeper misses amenities, front desk forgot to add bonus points, etc.), but overall it’s a reliable big-chain business hotel in DC.

I WASN'T WOWED BY THIS HOTEL

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The location of this hotel can't be beat within walking distance to many attractions and neighborhoods, and the staff is friendly and upbeat. But the hotel pales in comparison to other hotels in the area. It is older with a renovation that doesn't do it justice. My room 1426 was comfortable but had a smell of sewer gas upon entering which I'm sure the hotel would have changed my room, but I was there late and leaving the next morning early. So, I just kept my bathroom door closed. I am a Marriott Bonvoy Gold member and there was no recognition of that nor any little perk I received for my membership level when I checked in. Again, this hotel is about location and if you can get it for a good price take it. But I doubt I will be back.

Comfortable, friendly, convenient

Olivia is great - helpful, kind and full of energy. The room is comfortable and clean. The heater has some noice but it does not impact that much. The lounge service is friendly so are other staff.
