Do not stay in this hotel - major safety concern and no consideration

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

I would not feel safe staying here. Someone entered my parents’ room in the middle of the night, turned the lights on, and fled the moment they woke up — leaving the door open. My father checked the corridor immediately. No one. After 3 days and constant ask, we were told it was a bellman, a bellman that would enter an occupied room at 12:30am, fled without a word, leaving lights on and door open, and disappear without a trace. I do not find that answer credible, and the hotel showed no urgency or interest in investigating it. On top of this: every compensation offered was later denied by management. Credits confirmed at check-in had to be fought for at checkout. The room went uncleaned and we had to request basic housekeeping. Not a single apology from management throughout. Zero communication. Zero accountability. Safety concern. Stay away.

Too Little for Too Much

Good location. The atmosphere is relaxed. The rooms are clean. The conference rooms are adequate. That's 100% of the good part. Here's why I won't start here again, particularly at these rates: 1. Bar is pricey but drinks are terrible. No mixologist, just someone with a bunch of sugary mixes. 2. No room service. If you get back late and want a bottle of water, you'll need to find an open store in the neighborhood. 3. No in-room water, coffee, or refrigerator. The room is not as well-equipped as an Embassy Suites room at 1/2 the price. 4. Housekeeping is hit or miss. Maybe they clean your room, maybe they don't. If you stop by the front desk and specifically tell them you're give for the day, that seems to increase your odds. 5. The food in their dining area is regrettable. Watery eggs in the morning. Cold entrees later. We had much better breakfast at the nearby Jefferson Hotel's Greenhouse Restaurant. Le Meridien was great chain of hotels back in the Air France days, but now that it's just another generic, Marriott also-ran with nothing to recommend itself, is suggest nearly any other hotel in the area. If you're going to stay in a room worse than a La Quinta, then pay no more than La Quinta rates. If you're going to pay for a more upscale experience, seek it elsewhere.

HUGE disappointment - overrated

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Nothing about this hotel was awesome. Nothing. The check-in process was cold and unwelcoming. We needed a refrigerator for medication and practically had to beg for one - then were charged what I believe was $20/day for the privilege. Valet parking ran close to $90/day. The base rate seemed reasonable until the add-ons started stacking up and the whole thing became frankly absurd. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. Our view was of the rooftop equipment. The bathroom was tired and in need of updating. The location was decent - that's the nicest thing I can say. For what this ended up costing, the experience was inexcusable. There are too many good options in DC to settle for this. I will not be back.
