Immerse yourself in the rich history of our capital city by staying at the Morrison-Clark Historic Inn and Restaurant. Built during the civil war as two separate mansions, the Morrison-Clark homes typify the elegant charm of historic Washington DC. Lovingly restored, the homes retain their lofty, medallioned ceilings, Italian Carrera decorative-marble fireplaces, and exquisite, red-tiled Shanghai roofs. Steeped in tradition, but with all of the comforts of modern day amenities, a stay at the Morrison-Clark Historic Inn is a chance to experience the warmth of the past without surrendering the comforts of the present.

I had a very nice stay at Morrison-Clark during a conference. I like the proximity to the conference center, the non-corporate feel of the inn, and the decor of the lobby/rooms. I did not eat at the restaurant while I was visiting but I would definitely stay there again!

What a lovely hidden secret. Was in town for a conference at the Marriott across the street but didn't want to pay the astronomical cost of a room there. Morrison Clark was right across the street. My room was very pretty - clearly had been updated recently. Quiet and comfortable. Great breakfast in the morning - and at a reasonable cost. Would definitely return and recommend.

This was a very nice historic hotel. The staff was top notch. Check-in and parking were a breeze (valet parking) . Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. Location was perfect for our purpose. Highly recommend.

Currently staying at the hotel. We booked a package that very clearly states parking is included. We specifically cancelled with booking.com with a lower rate in order to have this package booked direct with the hotel. On arriving, they told us it is only a discount and tried to charge us an additional $22 plus tax per night. We objected of course and were told that only a manager could resolve and no manager was present. We went to the room and: - the window was broken. - only one robe and slippers despite booking for 2 people and confirming in advance about slippers. - minibar not stocked. We wrote an email to the manager last night to resolve these issues as we had breakfast reservations in the morning and did not want to waste our holiday waiting for the manager at the hotel. In the morning, the safe did not work so we could not store our valuables. We went to reception and asked if the manager was now present. We were told our message was passed to the manager. 7 hours later, no response despite 2 more follow ups. Totally unacceptable for an expensive hotel that markets itself as luxury. Instead of relaxation and an enjoyable holiday they have brought us only stress.

Stayed here while visiting DC for cherry blossoms. Beautiful historic inn - we stayed in the historic side with a beautifully appointed room, very comfortable. Concierge extremely helpful as we checked in and gained our bearings. Easy to walk the area to all the great attractions, including White House, Capitol, Smithsonian, and great restaurants around. We had breakfast at the inn’s restaurant. Great eggs Benedict. Worth checking in to this boutique inn! No need for chain hotels when this inn feels like home!
