Reviews for Rosewood Washington DC

Comfortable

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I had a comfortable two day stay, location is divine in Georgetown and easy to get to anywhere in the city in a few minutes by car. Food is excellent for breakfast lunch and dinner, staff friendly, and I was unexpectedly upgraded to a nice one bedroom suite with a large bathroom and extremely comfortable bed. A few things to note if you’re a Rosewood regular like me, this hotel is quite small without much in the way of common areas (no proper lobby, a small room with a fireplace and a covered rooftop bar/lounge) but luckily with the upgrade I received I just hung out in my room when I had some down time. I’ll also note that given the hotel is a bit older, the room technology is a bit clunky, not enough outlets and some of the plugs don’t work, no USB ports etc like at other properties, the soundproofing isn’t great, and one of the elevators squeaks as it goes up and down so if you have a room next to it as I did, you will hear it (luckily I travel with ear plugs to sleep so it didn’t disturb me at night). Despite this, I’d gladly return for the location, food and service, this has a decidedly non-corporate feel which is a bit rare for DC and quite refreshing.

Great Georgetown Getaway

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The DC Rosewood provided us was a fantastic weekend get away. The hotel is located right off the main street in Georgetown, with close proximity to shopping and restaurants. The hotel has a cozy library room and intimate feeling restaurant and bar area. The food, for dinner (CUT) or breakfast is top notch. The rooftop is lovely and a nice place to have snacks or a drink, or to take advantage of the indoor/outdoor heated pool. We were upgraded to an incredible Townhouse- the property has about 10 of them right next door to the main hotel building. We enjoyed the massive, clean, and very well decorated space, a kitchen and even a fireplace- making it perfect for a rainy afternoon inside! Staff was attentive and onsite valet parking is available. We are looking forward to coming back! Be sure to take advantage of AmEx Platinum benefits- $100 F&B credit, included breakfast, and extended check in/outs!

A more critical review than I expected to be writing for a Rosewood property

Pros: Location- loved being in the heart of Georgetown. Service- all around very good. We particularly loved Giovanni who made our experience at the bar or rooftop special every time. Restaurants- loved all the seafood items I tried at the main restaurant Lobby area- loved the fireplace and drinking espresso there in the mornings Cons: Gym space- if a reasonable gym space is important to you, this is not your hotel Shower- not sure how the shower was supposed to drain- but it leaked out into the main part of the bathroom every time- definitely odd- and did not feel very “5 start hotel” Outlets in room- some of the outlets/ USB ports in room didn’t work Rooftop pool- I’m sure this is AMAZING in summer- I think in colder months it would make way more sense to make this a hot tub

A Luxury DC Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

The Rosewood was an absolute treat and I loved every second of my stay. I felt a world away from the city while being central to a beloved neighborhood. Everyone I interacted with was so friendly and welcoming. The doormen, the front desk, the managers, and all other staff were wonderful. The Rosewood has a small, well-appointed sitting room next to reception that smells amazing and offers coffee. The gym and pool are located on the roof, along with the rooftop bar, CUT Above. The rooftop views are great, though I sadly did not make it to CUT Above. My room was fantastic and I never wanted to leave. I basically locked myself in it for my stay, leaving only for a visit to CUT (the hotel's delicious restaurant) and venturing out for breakfast. I love that the rooms have a vanity to do your makeup, though the mirror is a bit too low. The bed was supremely comfortable. But the bathroom is what really stands out. It was huge, with a gorgeous tub and lovely rainfall shower. I barely left the tub and shower. Everything was immaculately clean. This was my first stay at a Rosewood property and it will not be my last. The attention to detail, service, and ambiance were absolutely perfect.

A Go To Spot For The DC Elite.

In the most prestigious neighborhood of Washington DC, overlooking the picturesque C & O Canal, sits the grand redbrick Rosewood Hotel. It is appropriately situated close to the Kennedy Center, Georgetown itself and other sought after attractions. My Deluxe room was modernly outfitted, with separate seating area and views of Georgetown, a neat work desk with plenty of high-tech room appliances. The bath boasted a glass enclosed floor to ceiling rainfall shower and a stand alone soaking tub. Dining is powered by the renowned restauranteur Wolfgang Puck's "CUT" eatery which brings his famous Beverly Hills steakhouse to the Rosewood. A menu of mainly meat and seafood, all food is exceptional here.....but I fell for the CUT Seafood Platter ..... absolutely delectable things from the sea. Also from Puck, is the CUT Bar, while the chic rooftop CUT ABOVE is perched along side the hotel's indoor outdoor pool with scenic views and serving cocktails and food items typical of this kind of facility. So, if you are looking for a cozy hideaway with a plush residential feel..............then try the.............Rosewood Washington DC............a go to spot for the DC elite.
