BOOK THIS HOTEL NOW!!!

This hotel is AMAZING and so is the staff! I took a weekend trip to DC just to relax and get away, and this hotel helped me do just that! I booked the Capitol Hill Suite because I knew I'd spend a lot of time in my room, so I wanted something really nice. They laid it out for me. I could also tell that the hotel was brand new. I can't imagine that it's been there more than a year or so unless they're just that meticulous about the upkeep. Nonetheless, my check in process was very quick and easy. I think it took all of 3 minutes max. When I walked into my room, they had cheese, chocolates, and nuts on the table along with some sodas and water. My fridge was also fully stocked with water and sodas. Even the bucket on the minibar was already filled with ice. Although that may sound like a small gesture, I've never been to a hotel that's done that before, and that really made me happy because I didn't have to go looking or an ice machine right away. The view from my room was BEAUTIFUL! The room was located in the corner at the end of the hotel, so I could see everything. I typically close my hotel room curtains, but here, I left them opened during my entire stay. The view was just that nice! While in the lobby, I happened to meet the General Manager of the hotel, Zack, and he was extremely nice, personable, and hospitable. I thought it was odd for the GM to be working on a weekend, but that further solidified why his staff was so accommodating and willing to do great work for him and their guests. Zack made sure that I was well taken care of. He showed me around the hotel a little when I asked for a small tour. I also asked about visiting one of the local museums, and he even helped me to get a ticket for the next day. I ate at the hotel restaurant a few times during my stay, and the food and drinks there were really good. The wait staff and hosts were also very nice. To sum things up, I'd rate this hotel 10/10! If I could rate them higher, I would. Whenever I visit DC again, I'll definitely stay there again. I enjoyed my stay so much that I didn't want to leave when it was time to go. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area or even a local looking for a nice place to have a staycation.

Overall a great experience

Very professional and helpful staff. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was clean. A very convenient location near the Capitol. The managers Zach and Jamar, and front desk Lucille went the extra mile to make sure our stay was excellent.

A Gem of a Stay at a Hotel with Plenty of Character and Unique Charm

Upon entering the hotel, we immediately fell in love with its welcoming atmosphere and the various colors and designs in its rooms. Their tasteful decor and vibrant colors created a relaxing and inviting environment that would provide a memorable stay. The room's views were also very impressive. We were able to enjoy a great view of the surrounding area. The hotel's restaurant, Bistro DuJour, was also very impressive. Visiting from New Orleans, food is important. This establishment, which was designed to provide a sophisticated and delicious dining experience, featured a variety of innovative and classic dishes. The ambiance in the restaurant was also very welcoming and had a touch of French whimsy, which made each meal more savory. The staff members of the hotel are very friendly and made our stay as comfortable as possible. We would also like to express our gratitude for the exceptional service provided by Ron, the restaurant's waiter. His knowledge of the menu and his ability to provide exceptional customer service made our dining experience at Bistro DuJour an enjoyable and impressive one. The hotel provided us with an amazing experience, and we would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for accommodations that combine luxury, comfort, and personable service with a spice of unique charm. The service you can expect here

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

My business, public and personal commitments require me to travel to our nation's capital regularly. Consequently, I have been fortunate to have frequented most of the best hotels the city has to offer. Because I was planning to attend a black tie event at the Library of Congress this weekend, I thought I would try the nearby Royal Sonesta Capitol Hill Hotel; therefore, I made a non-refundable reservation for three nights.Unfortunately, I came down with COVID and had to cancel my trip. When contacting the hotel to see if there was any flexibility towards a refund or credit given the circumstances, we were told there was not but that the General Manager had the final say. We never heard from the General Manager despite multiple overtures. I realize that I made the commitment to stay at the Hotel, but the first class hotels I have had the privilege of experiencing provide a superior service when it comes to these kinds of changes. The Hotel's reaction speaks volumes to me.

Fantastic Hotel and Event Venue in DC

I've stayed at The Royal Sonesta Capitol Hill, enjoyed dining at their on-site restaurant (Bistro Du Jour), and held an event here--- and this property just keeps on shining. From the spectacular service, divine food (catering is also scrumptious) and drinks, to the spacious rooms--- I highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay in/near DC. The meeting room we were in was BEAUTIFUL: The Sapphire Room ob the Penthouse level. Our guests enjoyed the most glorious views of the city from the floor-to-ceiling windows as well as the outdoor wrap-around terrace. The sipped on handmade cocktails and noshed on delicious amuse bouche, while taking part in our afternoon seminar. Everyone raved about this event space and servicing. We will be returning!
