Enjoyed my Mother's Day weekend - decided to do something different this year and actually enjoyed myself. Walked along the Marina, had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant (temporarily on 8th floor during refurbishment). Appreciated Eskader's attentiveness - she clearly enjoys her role at the front desk and seeks to ensure clients have the best experience. She was welcoming, warm and personable, made sure to go over various logistics and was kind enough to guide me to the footbridge which would lead me to the other side of the road.

The Salamander DC is in the perfect spot for visiting DC. Practically on the wharf yet close to the mall attractions. However, if you like a good strong shower, beware, they use some pretty intense water savers in the shower heads. Beds are very soft with nice fluffy linens.

Very good stay at a quality luxury hotel. Our room was very good. The bathrooms and beds excellent. The hallways leading up to the room didn’t smell old and musty. Overall, our experience was very good. There was construction going on which greatly disappointed us as we are fitness and gymnasium People. Also, the pool was closed. That was another major negative for us. Again, the overall location, cleanliness and staff made the experience very good.

Enjoyed my stay however the construction disruptions are evident (traditional bar area, some noise, lots of activity and staff running around) distracts the traditional experience at this property compared to when it was the Mandarian.

The true test of the quality of a staff is how well they react when the unexpected happens. This weekend the unexpected occurred. Eskadar and her staff handled the situation with professionalism and grace. They exceeded all expectations and my clients and I are overjoyed and satisfied with the result. Outstanding!!! I would definitely choose to come here again.

Not up to the standards of our stay at previously booked luxury link hotels. No in room coffee bar, no mini bar, blamed everything on Covid, and they were a new hotel, we would not stay there again. Definitely not 5 star, location good, no ice maker you had to call for it.
