Overview

Originally opened by President John F. Kennedy in February 1963, The Madison Washington D.C. is one of the most distinguished hotels in the city, steeped in the history of the remarkable region around it. Referred to as "Washington's Correct Address," this hotel has played pivotal roles in international politics, acting as a temporary Kremlin in 1987 while Soviet leaders met with the Reagan Administration as well as a temporary Oval Office for George W. Bush, just before he took office in 2000. With its central location, historic tradition and touch of modern luxury, The Madison continues to host celebrities, foreign ministers, heads of state and industry leaders. Conveniently located, The Madison is within walking distance of many of the nation's landmarks and acclaimed attractions including the White House, the national mall and the Smithsonian museums.
