Beautiful hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 20 hours ago

The hotel is beautiful, very clean. Very close to the Cherry Blossom Festival and the Wharf. The breakfast at the hotel is expensive but it is really good. The bed especially the pillows are 5*. Very clean hotel, rooms and the employees are super nice especiallt the greeters and the front doors. I have photos to show, but they are save on my cell.

Our stay at the Salamander was fantastic and made our trip to DC special.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

To say that the rooms and amenities were excellent wouldn’t be doing them justice. They are. All the staff went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Of special note, Eskedar, a front desk staffer, made our stay special. Her friendly demeanor, great conversation and recommendations, and her willingness to help in any way was so very much appreciated by us. From check-in to check-out, all the Salamander staff and Eskedar in particular, made our trip to DC unforgettable and a wonderful experience.

Dated, noisy in the mornings due to ongoing construction

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I had such high hopes ... and they were all dashed. The property is dated, and they are charging full freight despite the significant construction noise. No need to set your alarm - they'll wake you with all of the banging! Rooms and bathrooms are dated. The renovation is much needed, but good grief - start the work later in the mornings and maybe offer discounted rates if you're going to stick people in old, crummy rooms with non-functioning AC / heat. Also, I booked at a rate that was significantly lower than I was charged, and the front desk was unable or unwilling to resolve this issue. I would not return. I really wanted to like it.

Smooth and pleasant experience

Wonderful stay for the Washington Bar Association Annual Law Day Dinner. The ballroom, catered food and the ambience were splendid.

Not up to the standards of our stay at previously booked luxury link hotels. No in room coffee bar, no mini bar, blamed everything on Covid, and they were a new hotel, we would not stay there again. Definitely not 5 star, location good, no ice maker you had to call for it.
