From the moment we stepped out of our car, we felt like we were the only guests at the Ocean House! The personal welcome, special touches at every turn, fantastic cooking class with Chef Paul, the Make a Mad Martini class, an unbelievable Chef's Table dining experience with chefs Jacob, Andrew, Dylan, Olivia, the OH spa and so much more made our wedding anniversary one of the best we've ever shared! Writing that we highly recommend The Ocean House does not do it justice! If you haven't it now and you will not regret it!

If a perfect place exists, it just may be The Ocean House. If perfect service exists, you will experience it at The Ocean House. Our family of four spent two perfect nights at The Ocean House. The room was enormous and offered a stunning view of the ocean. Our kids loved all of the treats in the room. The front desk staff and the gentleman who checked us in - all went above and beyond in their hospitality! We enjoyed a delightful walk around Watch Hill and to the lighthouse. It was off season but somehow that made it all the more enjoyable. Breakfast and dinner at the Bistro were both excellent! Thank you, Ocean House, for such a meaningful and memorable experience!

Been to the Ocean House many times since they opened in 2010. This recent stay was very unpleasant solely because of the arrogant and condescending front desk. We know that check-in is 4 pm and we know that we arrived early. Got it. However, in the past, when we have arrived early they ALWAYS made every effort to get us into our room a little earlier and always succeeded in doing so. We know that it takes a room a while to clean and be inspected, etc. Got it. However, we were told, when we periodically checked in, that it was still be cleaned. (Three hours????) We know that the room was booked the night before and was not immediately available. Got it. However, in the past they expedited the cleaning for guests who were there waiting. There were approximately 18-20 rooms occupied the night we came. It was a Sunday night and was off season. That's it. The hotel was far from full occupancy. Yet, the FRONT DESK kept us at arm's length. They offered us to go see some (old) movie. Or a glass of juice? Seriously? That's the best you can do? Our luggage went up at 3 pm. Contacted the Manager and we were FINALLY in our room exactly at 4 pm--one hour after our luggage was in the room. Technically, that is check-in time. Got it. However, they were not at all busy and they (Front Desk) PURPOSELY kept held us at bay. The manager was a nice guy and realized that we were very angry and offered to make amends. His gesture was appreciated, but it did not compensate for S and E's off-putting and patronizing attitudes. This was a special day. WAS. Past tense. Our experience has us rethinking a return to Ocean House. No matter how many "stars" they have or awards or Forbes write-ups or accolades they like to purport in their comments, etc., it doesn't compensate for a lack of manners and a respectful treatment of any (including returning) guests. We love(d) this place and are very disappointed in our treatment.

We were there this past weekend to celebrate our 18 years anniversary! It was as beautiful as we have expected! The room was impeccable (#404) with a gorgeous tub, beautiful shower, great bed & bedding!!! Everything in the room was wonderful and I am generally very picky!!! I appreciated how quiet the room was and my daughter loved Madeline's book. Such a lovely detail!!! We had lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch there and I liked all of them. I wish there were more options for lunch, especially for someone who tries to eat gluten-free. I love lobster, but the only way to eat it there was in a bun, which I did not want to touch. I had lamb chops for dinner and they accommodated nicely my gluten-free request. The lamb was perfectly done and delicious. My favorite was the brunch as it included many great options and beautifully presented. Most of the stuff was wonderful and in general the services were absolutely great at the hotel. All the people we met at the reception were wonderful and really friendly with my daughter too. We loved the pool and the common grounds of the hotel. I wish there were a few more options for kids, and maybe there are during the summer season. During our visit, the pool, a few board games and some movie screenings were the only kid-specific activities. Overall, this is a fantastic hotel!! We had a great weekend there and hope to return soon to this wonderful property, especially during warmer weather and when the town is more alive!!!

For New England ocean front, this place is tough to beat. The rooms and bathrooms are top notch. The dining room is a bit stuffy... I prefer to sit outside in the summer. The views and beach are the best around.. and Taylor Swift has a house next door.
