Reviews for The London West Hollywood

Beautiful and stylish.

I made a quick 2-night trip down to LA this past weekend and was very eager to try out this hotel. I wanted to be close to the strip but not right in the action as I was wary of crowds and noise. I arrived late at night and my first impressions were amazing. The private driveway for the hotel is calm and stylish, you’re hardly being dropped off on the curb of a busy road. The entrance and lobby are elegant and there were at least 3 members of staff working the front desk even though it was late at night. The staff as a whole was amazing- I’m a young guy and have stayed at nice hotels before where I’ve felt immediately judged for my age and never once felt uncomfortable here. All the staff greeted you with a smile and were more than happy to talk. The staff truly set The London apart from its competitors. I was given an end unit on the 7th floor for my stay. It was really cool. I had an east-facing balcony with views of the strip and downtown in the distance which was lovely. The room is absolutely huge, and I was just in the most basic one. You get a king bed, dining table, comfortable sofa, and a small dressing area behind the bed. I loved the style and layout. The bathroom was nice, again I liked the style, but I can’t help but think there was some wasted space. I was expecting a bathtub from the pictures (my mistake) and while they’re only offered in the suites I think there would 100% be room for one if there’s ever a remodel. Housekeeping was immaculate and the room was left spotless every time- truly outstanding work by them. I spent much of my time at the rooftop pool even though the highest temperature was 65F. There’s plenty of seating that’s all plush and comfortable. The pool is large and I enjoyed the soft pop music that was being played. It was really peaceful up there. There was free sunscreen, water, and towels as well which I appreciated. There seemed to be numerous staff working the bar but they seemed to be camped out there 95% of the time, with nobody going out of their way to interact with any guest unless requested. This was the only aspect I found a little odd. I wish it had been warmer over my visit because I would’ve spent my whole weekend up there. The only time I ate at the restaurant was for the free breakfast. Black coffee is included as well as water and juice. The buffet is included, but wow is it basic. I appreciate anything being included on the bill but a lot of the selections were kind of odd. The only included hot dishes were mini frittatas and breakfast potatoes. There was a selection of breads, charcuterie, fresh fruit, and then a whole lot of mini store-bought pastries. The weirdest were the massive plates of sliced tomato and lox which went almost completely untouched. I just couldn't help but think about how much is thrown out at the end of every breakfast service. Once again, I’m glad to have anything included but one or two more hot dishes would go a long way in improving the experience. This hotel is EXPENSIVE. The Edition and Pendry are likely the only ones more expensive nearby. I paid in the neighborhood of $500 a night but probably wouldn’t pay any more. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for good deals in the future as I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Amazing hotel - from start to finish I cant fault it! The room was huge with a balcony and a great view of the city. The rooftop pool also great, manged to spend few hours working from there. The breakfast spread was perfect . Great location on Sunset Plaza.

Awesome Stay and the Friendliest Staff!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Great hotel but even better people. Some of the friendliest, nicest, most caring staff I have experienced at any hotel and I travel extensively so that is saying a lot. Beautiful property, amazing breakfast buffet, great gym. Comfy beds. Such a comfortable stay in every way. We will come back and even better deal when booked through AMEX, great property perks. Only slight con is that there is some street noise from the city view hotel rooms but not that big of a deal with sound machine on the phone to offset.

Perfect stay for brief trip to LA

Great, slightly quieter area of LA to base yourself. Hotel amenities and staff were fantastic. Highly recommend for couples or families. The rooftop pool is amazing with great views across the city. Very comfortable rooms, we stayed in the vista suites.

Excellent Hotel 5 Star

Amazing hotel, great location! We loved our first time stay at this hotel. The rooms are spacious, the complimentary breakfast every morning is excellent, and the rooftop pool is beautiful! We had a wonderful stay with zero issues. Our room was lovely and quiet (which is super important to me). The rooftop pool was beautiful, quiet, and tranquil. The bar in the restaurant was also great, we had apps and drinks before dinner and both were excellent. We usually stay at another hotel when visiting LA but this will be our new spot for all future visits!!
