Tucked just a block off the bustling Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, the Mediterranean-style Sunset Marquis is the ultimate urban refuge. This exclusive hideaway, which completed an expansion in 2008 by adding 40 brand new villas, a full service spa, and a re-launched restaurant, invites you in with lavish accommodations nestled on almost five acres of verdant gardens, 4,000 trees and plants, and koi ponds. A favorite of the hip and famous since opening in 1963, the hotel has hosted some of the biggest names in music and film, as well as discerning travelers from around the globe. Not to mention it's likely the only hotel you will visit with a state of the art complete recording studio. The magic truly does happen right here, at Sunset Marquis.

We stayed at the Sunset Marquis in Los Angeles for four nights and absolutely loved it. It was one of the quietest and most peaceful hotel stays we’ve ever had, which was such a pleasant surprise for LA. The property is tucked away but still within walking distance of a few shops, which made it feel private yet convenient. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, and the pool area is large and relaxing—perfect for unwinding after a day out. We also really enjoyed the small bar and the musician photo gallery, which gave the hotel such a cool, creative vibe. The brunch menu was a little fancy for me, but the staff went out of their way to accommodate and make something simple. I’m a pancake-and-bacon kind of gal, so I was very thankful they made it happen! We didn’t get a chance to visit the spa this trip, but it’s definitely on the list for next time. The villas looked adorable as well, and I would love to stay in one on a future visit. We were nervous about finding a place we loved in LA since we usually stay in the Irvine/Newport Beach area, but this hotel is now our favorite spot in Los Angeles. Highly recommend!

This hotel, quite popular among rock stars, is fantastic. We stayed in the main building for a few nights and felt home. The room is quite spacious, with a refrigerator available for guests to store their stuff, free bottles of water and coffee capsules every day . If you want to skip the good valet service, there is a public parking available around the corner. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, they have handled our package deliveries super well and shown us all the hotel merch, which is awesome (book, shirts, etc). The hotel has a restaurant with excellent food options for breakfast, lunch or dinner and a good bar that goes until 2am. And checkout is at 12, not the classic 11am. Finally, the hotel itself has a fantastic decoration, with pictures of rock musicians all over, a gallery with great rock books and pictures for, a cozy pool and a full recording studio that is definitely worth a visit. Excellent place to be in LA!

Thank you we had an amazing experience once again. The Hotel staff are exceptional, we think the Sunset Marquis is the best in LA if not all Cali. The walls do rock and we are thankful for it! ❤️

Incredibly attentive, polite and cordial staff and accommodations. Our meal at The Room was one of the BEST we had in LA. We will definitely be back and can not wait to come and stay in the new Villas!

There is no better, hipper, more incredibly perfect place in LA than the Sunset Marquis. It's everything at once, and you are a part of it all.

My husband and I just came home from a 4-night stay at one of the new villas at Sunset Marquis and we think it's one of the nicest properties we've ever stayed! It's not just the incredibly beautiful room, it's also the immaculate landscape, the well-trained friendly staff, and the 5-star quality food that will bring us back to Sunset Marquis the next time we're in the area. We had a very pleasant time there, great job to the staff!
