JM Andres truly sets the gold standard for guest services at the Westin Whistler. From the moment of our arrival, her professionalism and warmth made us feel genuinely valued. Her meticulous attention to detail ensured that every aspect of our stay was seamless, and her dedication to exceeding guest expectations is truly commendable. Thanks to JM's exceptional service, our visit became unforgettable, and we eagerly anticipate returning, grateful for her outstanding hospitality. P.S. My kids were overjoyed with the surprises!

5 out of 5 all the way! JM is always phenomenal and always goes the extra mile (including the welcome gifts for the kiddo and the adults!) The resort/hotel is centrally located and right next to the ski school in Whistler Village. That…and the Can-ski where we can valet our skis. We will come back time and time again and regardless of weather. This spot is top notch!

Great location, wonderful restaurant staff, but disappointing customer service

I’ve been staying at this location for several years now and each year seems to be a little worse since Marriott acquired. To start with the check in process. I was checking in on a busy Sunday afternoon after a weekend of fresh snow so the agents were understandably busy and my room was not ready (just before 4pm). I had also made a request to combine a reservation I had added on later to stay in the same room throughout. The agent was very graciously trying to accommodate my requests. She seemed to have found a solution, but I would have to wait longer for the room. I was surprised when the room was ready earlier than expected and realized why once I got into it. It was not what we had discussed, but I was too tired at this point to go back down to the front desk. The room itself was fine, but on the lowest floor right next to the elevator which I specifically said I had not wanted. The next morning when my friend awoke he found the door to our room ajar, which we both thought was odd. We reported this to the front desk and a manger called soon after to confirm we were ok and let me know they would be looking into it and that loss prevention would follow up me. I am still waiting for that call. They rekeyed the room, but as I was leaving to go down to the lobby to get the new keys I noticed that the latch was loose and the screws coming out which had not been that way the day before. Clearly whoever tried to get into our room had used enough force that it caused damage to the latch, but also somehow not managed to wake either of us up. I still do not know what happened or how someone could have gotten the door open in the first place. Fortunately the latch did what it was supposed to do and the maintenance person that came to fix it let me know that no key would work if the lock were turned from the inside (I know this sounds obvious). This is the first time I’ve had anything like this happen at a hotel and was disappointed in the lack of follow up after the initial contact. The wait staff at the restaurant were wonderful in the mornings. The pool and fitness area is ok and usually busy on a winter afternoon and the bathrooms are not very well maintained. Unfortunately, the checkout process left a lot to be desired as well. I had requested a late checkout, but the latest they told me they could do was 1pm to which I agreed. Since we were not sure when we would be done for the day we took our bags down to the bell desk to be safe. However, I realized I was too tired from the past 4 days of skiing to do a fifth and returned by noon only to find housekeeping already cleaning the room telling me no one had informed them of the late checkout. Needless to say this was not my best stay with the hotel and is making me question my loyalty to both them and the Marriott brand. I think my first experience when this hotel was under Starwood was so great that it has kept me coming back. Overall the hotel is in a great location very close to the Whistler gondola, has a ski valet, and the rooms are relatively nice, although definitely show some wear and tear, but the customer service is not what it used to be (although some of the staff were amazing).

Really nice facility. I liked that all of the rooms have a kitchen. Thanks to Tripadvisor reviews I knew what to expect with my studio with 2 Queen beds. Yes it is small (think cruises hip cabin) but I liked the kitchen and fireplace. Good location. Concierge was helpful in making reservations. The ski ski on/off is more like pay $11 CAD/pair of ski/night and walk 100 yards (across the street) to the gondola.

Best hotel in Whistler!

Westin Whistler is a fantastic property. Hannah, Stella, and Madeline at the front desk were all very pleasant and friendly. I arrived early and as expected the room was not ready. After check in I was upgraded to a nice one bedroom suite as a result of titanium status with Marriott BonVoy. The room was well appointed with a fireplace and full kitchen. After checking in I went to the fitness center which for such a nice property was underwhelming. The fitness area is in a walled off portion of the pool area. Kids were running in and out playing on the equipment. Watching outside it was interesting to see how many people could cram into the hot tub. The property had a nice indoor and outdoor pool combo but could drastically use hot tub upgrades. The titanium member breakfast is fantastic and gives you a filling start to a day of skiing. As I expected the property has a lot of loyal members and giving everyone a late check out would be tough, I was grateful for the one I received. The location of the resort can’t be beat. Some believe that it is ski in ski out which it is not. It is a short 3-5 minute walk to the gondola. The property offers ski valet which is convenient in the lobby.
