Like the rainbow-hued houses in Curaçao's UNESCO World Heritage site capital, Baoase Luxury Resort embraces color in its five-star villas and rooms. Rich wood and jewel-toned accents make the transition from the king-sized bedroom to an airy patio surrounded by lush botanical gardens, creating a sense of peaceful continuity.

I visited Baoase with my teenage daughter the week after Christmas. Prior to arrival the team was very responsive via email for dinner requests, excursions, airport transportation etc. We did experience a flight delay on arrival/ we arrived a day late due to a Northeast snowstorm, and the Baoase team responded immediately and was quite helpful when we reached out. Our Superior Beachfront Pool suite was gorgeous. The room was large, clean, had a private pool and beach. Housekeeping was thorough and excellent, although several days they had not arrived by 3 pm and I needed to reach out to request them to come. Turndown service was always special, with notes and treats left, as well as incense. We enjoyed both our private pool and beach, as well as the lagoon beach- and both were spectacular. The resort never felt crowded and we could always find space and chairs. We ate both on and off property- twice at Culinary Beach restaurant, once at Italian night, and once dinner room service- all food was great and they offer kids menus. Breakfast was great and I enjoyed both the food and ambiance. We used hotel transportation several times to visit Mambo Beach ($22 each way) for shopping and more casual dining, and the WhatsApp feature was great to both request transportation or just to ask questions. Food was great and well presented. Although we would have welcomed more casual dining at dinner- pizzas, sandwiches etc (or perhaps these options available between 3-5 pm)- especially when travelling with a family. Shortcomings: - Certain things are expected at a $2000/night hotel- for three days straight I sent a whats app message to let management know there was no soap in the ladies restroom at the beach- the dispenser was broken. Finally on the fourth day I asked if they could simply put a bottle of soap there if they could not fix the dispenser . Seems trivial but also seems like something housekeeping or the many beach butlers should have noticed before me, and certainly should not have taken 4 days to resolve. - Dirty towels are left on beach chairs hours after guests have left. At most resorts the towels are taken and fresh ones put down relatively quickly, so other guests can enjoy- here I noticed they made no effort to get rid of trash or dirty towels despite at least 2-4 beach butlers in staff- just an observation. - We were told when we arrived we always had a table at lunch and dinner on property. However every day at breakfast, I was asked if we would be coming for lunch or dinner- often I did not know as we tried to relax and not plan too much in advance. I did not mind the questioning, but we didn’t have firm plans. - Would have loved a water cooler at beach with cold tap water- most caribbean resorts have this option, even if you need to fill your own reusable cup. All of the glass water bottles seemed wasteful and of course an additional charge. There is a mini mart 5 min walk away if you want to purchase wine, gatorade, sodas etc. - We were part of the Venezuelan airspace cancellation and in my opinion the hotel could have done better. I informed them at 09:00 that my flight was cancelled and that I could not rebook for 3 days. I was told by the hotel manager Anthony that I could stay in my current room at least for that night and possibly longer, but at very least I could stay in the hotel even if I had to change rooms. He even offered me a 10 percent discount for that evening (obviously with no flights out no flights were coming in either so our room would have been vacant had we left). I appreciated this, as I was travelling solo with a 13 yo. Several hours later I reveived a phone call from the front desk asking for my flight details, what time I would be leaving the next day, and was informed that I may not have a room to stay in after all. You can imagine my disbelief as had they been honest hours earlier I would have checked out and found other accomodations. Thankfully I was able to find an earlier flight out so I do not know whether we would have been left without accommodations or not. Interstingly, while trying to figure out what to do- I see a room available both on Expedia and Baoase website, which I notified management of and even offered to pay the higher price/ which they had little answer to and still didn’t guarantee me the room. Of note, I was told my additional night would be at a 10 percent discount yet this was not reflected upon checkout. Overall there seemed to be poor communication between the guest services answering whats app, the hotel manager, and the front desk manager. All making for a stressful experience given the travel circumstances. - Would have preferred some more moderately priced or free activities over Festive season. Even simple activities like ornament making, cookie decorating, snorkel tour- $100 for a crab race?! Come on. If it had been $10 or $25 we would have participated and purchased several, but it seemed extravagant after the price of the room. -Preference and service did not seem consistent amongst all guests We have travelled all over the caribbean- 50 times to Grand Cayman, 20 times to Turks and Caicos, as well as numerous other 5 star locales/ St Lucia, Bahamas, St John, Anguilla, etc. While we certainly enjoyed our stay and had an enjoyable vacation with fabulously warm weather, and made family memories, I am not sure I would come back here given the price point and overall feel.

Another wonderful experience from opening greeting to closing Team Goodbye!! This has to be our favorite resort, this was our third trip. The 1:1 experience and feel the Team provides is beyond approach. Everything was perfect from beach service, the Chef’s Specials (Oliver), and Christmas Trees in our room. Cannot say enough about the people who run this Resort, top notch. The ambience is relaxing, thoughtful, and always accommodating to provide that extra effort. Thank you all, we will see you again soon!

My husband and I stayed at Baoase Luxury Resort to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, and it absolutely did not disappoint. We purchased the all-inclusive meal plan, and every meal was a true five-star dining experience—not the typical “appeal-to-the-masses” buffet you often see at resorts. Everything was made to order, restaurant-quality, and the team was happy to adjust dishes based on dietary preferences. The cocktails and drinks were easily 5+ star as well. From the moment we arrived, the service and attention to detail were exceptional. We were greeted the second we stepped into the impressive, beautiful Balinese-inspired interior, with several staff members welcoming us—including the Resort Manager. We were given cool aromatherapy hand towels and a delicious welcome drink, and then whisked away for a property tour that ended at our room. No standing at a check-in desk, no paperwork routine—just seamless hospitality. Our room was beautifully prepared and thoughtfully stocked: leather room keys, all information organized on the cocktail table, a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine, fresh flowers, and fresh fruit (including dragon fruit). The amenities were top-tier—high-quality linens, a Sonos sound system with a tablet, a coffee machine, hot tea service, and a stocked mini bar. A quick note on room selection, especially if you’re booking last-minute: because we booked relatively late, the only room available for our dates was the Colonial Room (a large one-bedroom). We understood it did not offer a water view, and that wasn’t a concern since we planned to be out and about during the day. The room itself was spacious and well appointed. However, I do want to flag an important consideration: it was very noisy starting around 7:00 a.m. We heard a repeated bumping sound that seemed consistent with staff going in and out of a door below us (the room is on the second floor and the office area appeared to be beneath it). There was no sleeping in, and the noise carried even over the A/C and ocean-wave sound we use to sleep. If a good view and sleeping in are important to you, do not book the Colonial Room. Logistics were easy too: you can arrange private airport transfers through the resort, and transportation is available if you’d like to head out. That said, if you enjoy a scenic walk, you’re about 25 minutes from the town center, with restaurants and cafés along the way. My husband and I have traveled extensively, and this was genuinely one of our top five resort experiences worldwide because of the service, ambiance, culinary excellence, and peacefulness. Special shoutout to Anthony, the Resort Manager—present, attentive, and genuinely engaged with guests. He greeted us upon arrival and was there to send us off as we headed home, which says a lot. Areas for improvement (shared only because the overall experience was excellent): there may be a training/consistency opportunity with housekeeping. Fresh fruit was left in our room for the first three days, and then it stopped. Also, the first-night turndown service was stellar—battery-operated tea lights, treats, and beautiful touches—but we only had the tea lights that first night. Once the batteries died, they weren’t replaced on subsequent evenings, so that “signature” turndown experience didn’t continue consistently. None of this took away from how much we enjoyed our stay, but for a resort operating at this level, I’d expect those details to be more consistent. What would make it even better? More on-site activities and a larger gym. That said, we understand they’re actively expanding and plan to add more experiences. Also—bonus memory—we even learned to salsa during our stay. If you’re looking for a solo escape, a couples’ reconnect, or an elegant family gathering, I highly recommend Baoase. Quiet, beautiful, and a true five-star experience.

From the moment my wife and arrived at Boaose Luxury Resort, we were swept into an atmosphere that felt alive with energy and warmth. It’s where Bali meets the Caribbean run with Dutch efficiency. The staff here are not just attentive—they radiate high energy enthusiasm, making every interaction feel like a celebration. A shout out for exceptional service goes to Kadehisha, Monique and especially Joey the bartender. Thank you, guys. The resort’s setting was nothing short of spectacular. Whether we were lounging on our balcony or strolling along the private beach, the best scenery is a constant reminder that you’ve landed in paradise. Dining at the property is a highlight in itself. Every meal feels like a masterpiece—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. From locally inspired dishes bursting with Caribbean flair to international favorites elevated with creative twists, the food is consistently wonderful. Boaose Luxury Resort is not for the faint of heart, budget wise. If you’re seeking a destination where luxury meets joy, this resort delivers in spades. The only negative we found was there was no Uber like service on the entire island. The hotel would gladly assign one, but if you’re in town, you’re on your own.

I truly cannot speak highly enough about the Baoase resort. It offered a level of serenity and relaxation I didn’t even realize my soul had been craving. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt like a warm exhale—calm, luxurious, and beautifully intimate. The staff is exceptional in every sense of the word. Their attentiveness goes far beyond good service; they anticipate your needs before you even think to ask, ensuring every detail is flawlessly executed. The food alone is a reason to visit—each meal felt like its own culinary journey, filled with vibrant flavors and unforgettable dishes. Absolutely nothing is left to chance. A heartfelt thank-you to the incredible team members who made the experience even more memorable: Lynn, Pablo, Kieren (sp?), and Rowan. And I can’t forget the most wonderfully restorative massage from Esther—truly one of the best I’ve ever had. Baoase is, without question, a once-in-a-lifetime escape. I’m already dreaming of the day I can return.
