Reviews for Baoase Luxury Resort

A relaxing dream

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Thank you Baoase for a DREAM trip from start to finish. Not one detail was overlooked. The incredible staff at Baoase made us feel right at home and were happy to accommodate any request. The room was gorgeous and comfortable, with an amazing nightly turndown service. The food was the best I’ve ever had at a resort. They even surprised us with special desserts multiple times. I’ve never felt more relaxed!! Thank you!!!

Peace, Tranquility, and Modern Chic Hotel. World Class resort with splendid Service Team to back it up. Our week stay was in the Superior Beach Front Suite, bed-pool-bathroom were all comfortable, impeccable and clean! Special thanks to the Resort Property Manager France for accommodating our tailored birthday week celebrations and a bigger shout out to Resort Chef Oliver for delivering-preparing the best tasting food combination of appetizers, entrees, and oddities all week. We also got to meet the most humbling and engaging down to Earth business owners ever, Ad and Bibi. Your property in Curacao delivered once again on our return visit, Thank you to you and your Service-Mgmt Team at the Resort. See you again soon!

Yes, but...

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I argued with myself about not giving 5 stars but in the end I don't think we would return to Baoase and that meant one less star. The staff was so nice and very helpful but sometimes the answer was yes, but it was all talk and no action. Things were promised but not delivered. Mostly small things but when you have to ask 3 times for a cup of coffee at breakfast (it took 20 minutes) it starts to wear away at that 5th star. Yes they promise that if you are on the all-inclusive plan that your minibar will be replenished daily. Ours was never replenished. Our room was beautiful. The bed comfortable, the sheets soft, plenty of hot water. Be warned, though, that whatever they use on the floor will come off on your towels, clothes etc. My white socks will never be white again. A sweet "happy birthday" message was left on our bed for my birthday -- it was just a day early. In our opinion the food was not great. I guess it just wasn't our style. We don't eat caviar, we love scallops but didn't like the way they were done, their idea of pancakes is not my idea of pancakes. Beef tenderloin, lobster, etc were delicious but hamburgers were terrible. It's just a matter of taste. And why was there no tropical fruit? There was pineapple, mango and papaya (my personal favorite) but it was cut up into small pieces, served in a small jar and had very little flavor. Quite a disappointment. Kids are allowed at Baoase and there were several there while we were. There are no kids-specific toys but the ocean directly in front of the resort is calm and mostly shallow. There are kayaks, and snorkel gear and pool noodles so if your kids are comfortable in the water they will have a blast. Be aware there is construction at the east end of the resort. Don't know what they're building but it is part of the resort. Construction noise was obvious during the day but stopped early in the evening. Might be an issue for naps. Also, there is a fair amount of road noise from outside the resort. Good points - there is lots of personal space. We never felt crowded or had to stand in line. We had our own covered palapa on the beach for relaxing with a drink and the beach butlers were prompt. Each palapa has a button to push for service. One day we were bobbing in the ocean and a butler walked into the shallow water to serve us a "beach bite". We've been to tons of ocean resorts, from Australia to Bahamas, and Baoase was the best for beach space, time and service. Relaxing under our palapa watching the pelicans dive for dinner never gets old. If the food was more to our liking we'd be back.

Fourth Visit and Still Exceptional - A True Home Away From Home

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This was our fourth week-long stay at Baoase Luxury Resort, and once again, it did not disappoint. With each visit, the resort feels more like home. From the moment we arrive, we are welcomed like family, and it’s this personal touch—combined with the resort’s unmatched beauty—that keeps us returning year after year. One of the most notable additions this trip was the newly opened Bida Beach. We were initially a bit hesitant as we always book a Superior Beachfront Suite and were concerned that the privacy might be interrupted. Upon arrival, we received a tour of the new beach area and were impressed by how they strove to maintain the privacy of these accommodations. I do feel that the beautification of this area has enhanced the view from our suite on that side of the resort. They were very careful to be sensitive to preserving privacy—most of the beach area faces away from the private beaches. There is one area near the bar that looks directly onto those suites, but it is a small section. Sitting at the bar does allow other guests to view our beaches briefly. We also appreciated how thoughtfully the speakers were placed—music is mostly undetectable from our accommodation, even on the nights when there is a live DJ. Even then (typically Friday and Saturday), the music is respectful and not intrusive. We gave a lot of direct feedback to management, and they were very receptive. Namely, I would appreciate them blocking off the area of the dock near the bar where guests can step down a couple of platforms and look toward the private beachfront suites. We did notice a few guests lingering there a bit too long. It wasn’t a major concern, but closing that area would further enhance privacy. As always, the food was incredible. There is a new chef executing their Michelin-star-level meals. Chef Oliver was very attentive and came out to our table multiple times each evening. His new additions to the dinner menu were especially welcomed by those of us who don’t leave the resort—and everything was beautifully prepared. We especially loved the octopus starter! Chef Renée Klop remains involved in a more executive role, and the quality and creativity of the food remain exceptional. We also enjoyed the new options available at Bida Beach—a few lunch items there are not available in the main restaurant. We loved the prosciutto pizza, the spicy mango margarita, and the spicy mango dessert! These are exclusive to that beach area. While there were a few dishes that weren’t our favorites, we gave feedback, and as always, the team was incredibly receptive. That’s one of the things we appreciate most about Baoase—their sincere commitment to improving and personalizing your stay, right down to your food preferences. If there’s something you’d like that isn’t on the menu, they encourage you to speak directly to the chef—especially for longer stays. We also enjoyed another romantic dining experience for our anniversary, and it was once again handled with such attention to detail. The candlelit beach setting, impeccable service, and thoughtful touches made it a night to remember. This resort is made exceptional by its wonderful staff. The level of service and attentiveness is what keeps us coming back year after year. No matter where you are on the property, every employee offers a warm greeting—those small, consistent gestures make a big difference and reflect the world-class training and care behind the scenes. A special shout-out to some of our favorite dining servers and managers: Kadeisha, Monique, Karen, Fraegeley, Suli, Shamila, and Eudulis—though I know we are leaving others out. Each of you made our stay so memorable. We had the pleasure of spending time with France, who I believe is a director of operations. She is thoughtful, attentive, and clearly passionate about creating a flawless guest experience. It was a joy getting to know her. She’s a true gem and in exactly the right role! We also appreciated the Front Office staff and how hard they work to make everything run smoothly. They were quick to answer questions, respond on WhatsApp, and offer thoughtful help. Special thanks to Leannick, who answered many of our questions and was friendly and very informative. All of the bartenders—David, Justin, Jaylin, and others—were fantastic. They made delicious cocktails, and Midas helped us choose wines that paired perfectly with each meal. One little gem we want to mention is the on-site boutique. We purchased several unique and beautiful items there that now serve as lovely vacation keepsakes. The store is well-curated and filled with pieces that go far beyond standard souvenirs—it’s worth a visit! If you’re looking for a resort that blends total luxury with laid-back elegance, this is it. Baoase is a place where you can do absolutely nothing—and feel completely fulfilled. From swimming and reading under the palms, to watching birds and sipping cocktails as the sun sets over the sea, every day here is about peace and pleasure. For those who prefer more activity, the staff can help plan anything you’d like—excursions, spa treatments, private experiences—but for us, the real magic lies in simply being here. All in all, it was a fantastic stay once again. Having now spent 28 nights at Baoase, we already find ourselves counting down the days until our next visit in October. This resort continues to set the bar in the Caribbean—and far beyond. Their recent award of being #1 in the Caribbean and #25 in the world is well-deserved. Thank you to everyone who helped make this yet another week of fantastic memories.
