To celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, my husband and I have been traveling to various locations and staying in top rated resorts. Our trip to Williamsburg, VA, staying at Kingsmill Resort was a bust due to the weather. It rained while there causing us to return home early. Although the weather was not ideal, Kingsmill Resort was very nice, clean and the staff in all areas were first class. Everyone was friendly, made you feel welcomed...like you were the most important guests. The only complaint about the facilities, is that our room door was difficult to open. It was old door hardware and took excessive effort to open. The room was nice size and clean. We were staying on the Bed & Breakfast package and the breakfast buffet was excellent with nice variety. Again, the staff at registration, in the dining areas, etc. were awesome!

My sister-in-law and I took advantage of a package deal offered by Kingsmill Resort this past weekend. The package included 2 nights stay, tickets to a comedy show Friday and Saturday night, and a buffet breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning. Shuttle transportation was provided to the show and to breakfast. We also were offered use of the recreational facilities at no cost and could book spa treatments or play golf for additional fees. A lovely dinner buffet at $25.00 per person was available as were other restaurants and bars on the property with shuttle service provided. The comedy show was top notch, clean humor. Cash bars and light munchies were available. You sit at assigned tables for the show with the same guests both nights which allows for friendly interaction. The crowd was courteous, polite, mostly older and the environment was clean and safe. A nice winter weekend getaway, moderately priced at at a luxury resort.

Thank you Kingsmill and all of your staff for another exceptional visit. Our international Board was well care for throughout the visit, and made to feel at home. From start to finish, across the resort, all of your staff are amazing. Any the incredible food didn't hurt either. :-) Looking forward to being back in September.

I took my daughter to Kingsmill Resort for her sweet-sixteen birthday, on January 14th, anticipating an enjoyable day spent at the spa. Prior to booking the Putt and Pamper package, I called the Kingsmill Spa to ensure my daughter would get the full, day-spa experience with sauna, steam room, relaxation room, etc. The spa reservationist assured me the facilities were available, functioning, and we could spend the afternoon enjoying them. Not so. After our massages, we were both disappointed to learn that the Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were out of service. The spa associate then corrected herself and said the steam room was available, but needed a light replaced. Confused, I asked if it would be available to use soon. She said, “It’s available to use. It just doesn’t have a light.” I asked, “So, what does that mean? Is it available to use or not? Does it have alternative lighting?” After further attempt to understand if or when it would be in service, she took us to see it. I almost laughed when she showed us a pitch-black, steam room with light from the exterior room visible only when the door was open. When I asked if there would be any type of compensation for not delivering the experience we had been promised, I was told nothing would be done. No apology. Nothing. There is a reason Kingsmill Spa reviews are declining – poor customer service and mediocre facilities. Disappointed.

The Kingsmill Resort is the premiere vacation, convention, and sports resorts in Williamsburg because of its scenic location on the James River, sheer size, Spa, Golf and Tennis facilities and 4 restaurants. It’s a solid and efficient place that won’t disappoint, but it lacks the charm that it seems like it should have - mostly because much of its facilities are worn and dated. Rooms are utilitarian but unimpressive. Restaurants are pleasant and meet the need, but not personal. The Fitness Center and Pool are adequate but clearly behind the curve. If you get a good rate and moderate your expectations, it’s worth the trip (Williamsburg for the Holidays is lovely).
