Five Stays, Five Stars—The Estate at Kingsmill is in a Class of its own

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This was our fifth stay at Kingsmill Resort, and I write this review with complete confidence: there is simply no better destination experience in the region. Each visit has been exceptional, but this most recent stay may have been the finest of them all. The Estate and Accommodations The property is immaculate — meticulously maintained grounds, elegant landscaping, and stunning views at every turn that never fail to take our breath away, no matter how many times we’ve seen them. Inside, the accommodations reflect the same standard of excellence. Everything was spotlessly clean, and small luxuries made a big impression — the sheets alone were so impressive we commented on them more than once. It is the kind of attention to detail that separates a good resort from a truly great one. The Amenities Kingsmill offers everything you could want without ever leaving the property. Vehicles were at our disposal, a golf cart made exploring the grounds effortless and fun, and there was no shortage of activities on site. Whether you want a full itinerary or a slow morning taking in the view, the resort accommodates both beautifully. You could spend an entire week here and never run out of things to do. The People — Where Kingsmill Truly Shines As wonderful as the property is, it is the staff who elevate the experience from excellent to unforgettable. Our House Manager, Allen, was extraordinary — attentive, gracious, and seemingly always one step ahead of our needs. His thoughtful touches made our stay feel personal and effortless, and he genuinely made this visit even more memorable than the four before it. And then there is Chef Tony. Words do not do justice to his talent. Whether preparing a meal for a small, intimate group or feeding a large gathering, he executes flawlessly every single time. His food is Michelin-star caliber — inventive, beautifully presented, and consistently the highlight of each day. He is, without exaggeration, one of the finest chefs we have ever encountered anywhere. The Verdict Five stays in, Kingsmill Resort continues to exceed expectations we didn’t think could go any higher. The pristine estate, the stunning views, the world-class amenities, and above all the remarkable people make this a destination we will return to again and again.

The Kind of Hospitality That Brings You Back

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Our family just finished a wonderful stay at Kingsmill Resort, and one person made an incredible first impression that stayed with us throughout our visit—Zakayla Johnson at the front desk. From the moment we arrived, Zakayla welcomed us with a genuine smile and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another reservation. She took the time to answer every question we had, patiently walked us through the resort amenities, and addressed each of our concerns with professionalism and kindness. Nothing ever felt rushed, and she genuinely seemed to care that we had the best possible experience. It’s easy to talk about beautiful grounds or nice rooms, but exceptional customer service is what really makes a vacation memorable. Zakayla’s warmth, positive attitude, and willingness to help stood out during our entire stay. Because of the outstanding service we received—not only from Zakayla but throughout the resort—we’re already talking about coming back. She set the tone for what turned out to be a fantastic vacation, and we hope Kingsmill recognizes what an asset she is to their team. Thank you, Zakayla, for helping make our stay so enjoyable. We can’t wait to return!

Kingsmill needs some help

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Room was adequate. Needs an update. Stairs and outside deck need a good power wash. The Mill is great for some coffee and a quick breakfast. We stayed three nights. We had dinner at Eagles. Food was ok, had to listen to a bunch of loud golfers. I I had a tee time and was told when I went to sign in that I would be playing by myself. Seems that you have to be a member to play with others. Played behind 3 members, 2 walked, 1 riding. They saw me plenty of times, never asked if I would like to join them. What’s that about??? Had a horrible dinner at James Landing Grille. Food was terrible and highly over priced. Only good thing there was the view. That place also needs a good cleaning and some much needed renovations. Seems to me this place is all about catering to the members. Probably not coming back. .

All the comforts of home and the bedding and linens were way too comfortable! Clean and tidy. Our kids loved the whole experience.

Super Super Super service from the staff members we encountered. This is what brings us back twice a year. We LOVE the service.

My family and I recently returned from a 5 night stay at Kingsmill Resort. Our experience was terrific. The resort offered great tennis, golf, fishing, etc. -- so much to do even with a day or two at Colonial Williamsburg and the parks, that we were tempted to stay an extra day... I would recommend this resort without qualification to friends, family and to my company for sales meetings.
