There were gnats all over our room. There were dead gnats all over the bed and in the shower. The carpet was stained. The sheets had holes in them. The rest of the resort is pretty but the rooms are nasty.

Kingsmill Resort has Outstanding service! Their staff is personable and professional throughout our visit. The servers at the restaurants, the bellmen, reception, and the maids could not have been more perfect. The suites are very nice, and the views from our two suites were of the James River and the beautiful forest next door to the marina. We will be returning soon.

The good: The staff at the breakfast buffet. Issac at the Marina. The bad: Everything else. The Ugly: The fact that they already know all of this stuff is broken. EVERY ice machine is broken, door locks are broken, phones, lamp shades, tiles, grout, dirty linens and towels, blood trail on my bedspread, exposed wiring in the main pool hot tub (possible electrocution), the water in the shower smells bad, dusty baseboards, furniture and dirty carpet; that's just the room. Had to go to the front desk to ask for ice, they had none and promised to get it right over to me.....40 minutes later I got it. You practically have to beg for new towels and toilet paper; there is no maid service. PLANNING A GOLF TOURNAMENT? No beverage cart service for our golf tournament. I've never heard of such a thing. There is ALWAYS beverage cart service no matter where you go. Why is this "golf resort" so lacking basic services?? I was a guest, but I tell ya, the leader who decided to have the conference here, was none too happy about it. I overheard him say that they won't ever come here again. Overpriced and under serviced. Add about $100 more, per day, to the room rate for "resort fees". Many of the condos are privately owned, I was told, as the reason why the condo was in disrepair, Kingsmill being at the mercy of the owner to keep it up. BS!!!!!! There should be minimum standards the condo owners must meet in order for Kingsmill to rent it. Many staff members don't even speak English. You ask them a question, and they just stare at you and then mumble "no English". How are they supposed to serve my needs if they don't know what I'm asking them for? Lack of staff was a complaint I overheard at the front desk. Strange because there is a campus full of smart, well-mannered kids, ON THE GOLF TEAM, who would love a great job. William & Mary has both an NCAA Division I men's and women's golf team. That resort should be packed with staff from the College. The place has fallen into serious disrepair.....like they should shut down until they fix all this stuff. Who runs this place? I sent a feedback message to Escalante golf, and without any response, they forwarded it to the "operations manager". LOL!!!!!!!!! The one staff member who serves as the central link between departments to ensure a seamless and premium experience for golfers and vacationers; possibly the person who has allowed the property to get like this. But it's obviously Escalante golf who is the problem. Why don't they just sell the property to someone who will return her to her former glory? Bottom line: I would never book another stay here. I was so frustrated by the time we left. Never, ever. I was there for 2 days and noticed all these problems. The front desk staff couldn't look at me in the eye when I checked out and showed them all of the problems. As if they hear it every day. It must be hard to work for a place you can't have pride in. Staff members leave and come back thinking it's better; they leave again knowing it's not. This beautiful resort could EASILY be whipped back into shape. She's got great bones; she just needs some tlc. Start with all new ice machines. They are on sale right now at Home Depot for $1,479. Dawn g.

My wife, mother and I brought our four month old son on his first vacation to the resort. The resort was beautiful and location was perfect. The highlight of our trip was the lazy river. Our son loved every minute of it. Charles at the river made the experience great. Between the duck races and the ice pops he gives out, he makes it a great experience. He even got a picture with my wife and son on our last day to remember the trip. I thank him for making our first vacation with our son great!

The place was beautiful and clean. Wish there were water bottles in the room. I couldn’t find water bottles any where. Stores were closed had to drive out the property. Very inconvenient. The arcade games where off and most of them where broken. The staff where amazing.

Super Super Super service from the staff members we encountered. This is what brings us back twice a year. We LOVE the service.

My family and I recently returned from a 5 night stay at Kingsmill Resort. Our experience was terrific. The resort offered great tennis, golf, fishing, etc. -- so much to do even with a day or two at Colonial Williamsburg and the parks, that we were tempted to stay an extra day... I would recommend this resort without qualification to friends, family and to my company for sales meetings.
