The resort is beautiful, however I felt the level of service did not warrant the cost per night. The additional amenities were not worth the extra $200 a night compared to 4 star hotels in the area. The restaurant had poor service and the food was over cooked. The golf and transportation were the only positives.

I recently spent the weekend at Kingsmill resort in Williamsburg, VA. It had been 5 years since my last visit and I was eager to return. My excitement quickly turned to "never again" as the weekend unfolded. The resort that I knew has changed and the stellar customer service they once provided is gone. It wasn't one big thing, but several little things that changed my opinion. After checking in, we preceded to our room and none of our key cards worked. We called for maintenance and they showed, only to find there was a bigger issue. Someone was called to repair the locks, we were assured they would arrive momentarily. More than two hours later, I had to get in my car and drive to the front desk. "Oh that was already taken care of, Mr. So and so was at room 3178. That was good for whomever was in that room, But that is not my room. They said they sent someone else, but never contacted me to confirm it had been done. At 8:30 we went to the James Landing Grille for dinner. We were met by a very pleasant young woman and quickly seated. Our server came and took our order, but our basic questions about items on the menu were met with confusion. She left to "ask questions", but actually went to a table adjacent ours and began to take that party's order! Summoning the manager, I explained that we had already had an issue before arriving. as 9:00pm approached with still no order taken, could we have another server. She apologized profusely and offered a free appetizer for our inconvenience. The server returned and took our order. The food was just ok. When it was over we paid cash for our meal and the server could not count change. Returning to our room, we found a bird nest and a random vacuum cleaner perched outside the door. Once inside we found a filthy microwave and spider webs above the bed. This on top of everything else Sealed the deal for me. I will not be returning to Kingsmill Resort, I let the associate at the front desk know this before leaving. I might be wrong, but for what they charge, every single thing should have been absolutely top notch. I was supposed to have a massage at the Spa as well. The $180 price tag seemed to be a risk at best. After what I had already experienced, there was no way I was going to risk it. This was supposed to be the weekend I celebrated my 50th birthday with my girlfriends. I don't feel there was a lot to be celebrated. Especially so since I'd been telling my friends how great it was. And I was right. It was great... many years ago. To their credit, they tried to make it right. A $25 credit, free appetizer and taking $100 off my final bill. I appreciated that, but I was there to make memories. Just not the kind I now have. If someone were to ask if they should go to Kingsmill Resort, I would say no. Please take your hard earned money and so someplace else.

Was way better in the past when Anheuser Busch was the owner. Now its a Cast system in the resort where members can go and do things that Resort guest can not. Nice place to stay but don't eat the food! The Restaurants are just bad again they were decent in the past. Elements 1010 is buffet I'm just not a all you can eat kind of person. Eagles is bar menu only and used to be a decent steak house. James landing grill is some the worst food ever.

April 22nd and 23rd tournament over the Plantation and River Courses. Saturday a shotgun start and Sunday tee times off the first and tenth tees. Bag staff setting up carts, staff on course, and supervisory staff were excellent. Golf course was in great condition. Service in restaurant very good. A great tournament and enjoyable weekend. Will certainly return.

The resort offers everything a family could want. We had a condo on the river with a bedroom, washer/dryer, kitchen, and patio. Upgrade to river view because it really adds to the peace and relaxation. I used the spa services and basically had the sauna, whirlpool, and steam room to myself for a while. Indoor pool came in handy and the hot tub had a nice view of the river. All of the meals were excellent.
