We spent 3 nights at the Inn. It is very charming with various spots to gather. Our room was lovely, clean, comfortable and quiet. A roaring fire greeted us in the lobby. The hotel's location is great, within walking distance of the town's main street, Billing Farms, whose admission is free as a hotel guest, and Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the hotel. I think if we had stayed longer, we may have tired of it. But for 2-3 nights, it worked well. We had a relaxing stay and would stay here again when in the area.

We visited the Inn almost a year ago when they had a rare flood. While I obviously do not blame the Inn for our unfortunate stay, I do blame them for their response and unwillingness to compensate us properly. Our first day/night was ok (no one's fault, Mother Nature just didn't cooperate) but the second day it downpoured torrentially making it impossible to use the off site facilities or enjoy the quaint town in any way. There were leaks in the ceiling so buckets were placed in the common areas and since no one could go anywhere or do much of anything, most people just hung around the lobby. In addition, since the local roads were flooded, many of the staff could not make it into work resulting in the closure of one of the the only two restaurants on site. By dinnertime there was no running water in the entire Inn and we were served dinner on paper plates and plastic cups. With nothing else to do we went back to the room to watch a movie. Upon arrival there were two bottles of water at everyone's door for brushing teeth/washing up. If you needed the toilet flushed they said they would send in the bucket brigade. Before going to sleep we happened to see a letter slipped under the door telling us that everyone had to vacate the premises first thing the next morning. No phone call or text so good thing we saw it. I say all of this with no ill will toward the Inn or the staff. The problem is that they only refunded us for our third night that we obviously weren't going to be there for and not for the second night which we couldn't even use the shower, let alone all of the other nightmarish encounters. I emailed numerous times and was brushed off with a response that the one night refund was enough. Of course I was refunded one night because they kicked us out but the hospitable and appropriate thing to do would be to refund us for our horrid second night. Since they did not and were unwilling to do so after several attempts on my part, we will not return nor recommend the Inn to anyone.

We had a chance to stay at the Woodstock Inn during our recent trip to Vermont. What a perfect spot for a weekend getaway. Beautiful grounds, nice rooms, several excellent restaurants and a very friendly and helpful staff. We found Wookstock to be a very charming town. Very touristy, but many interesting shops and restaudants. We would not hesitate to recommend the Inn and a visit to Woodstock.

Our stay at the Woodstock Inn was one of the most enjoyable stays we've ever had at any hotel. First, it is located in the heart of one of the most beautiful towns in New England (and probably the entire US). Second, the Inn itself is beautiful and contributes wonderfully to the charm of Woodstock. In addition to the charm of the town and the Inn, the staff is clearly dedicated to ensuring your stay will be a great experience. The Inn must have an excellent training program since everyone we talked to (doorman, front desk, bar tender, restaurant staff) made sure we were having a good stay and answered any questions we had. Our room was very comfortable (my wife ordered one of there pillows when we got home since she had such good night's sleep), clean and well provisioned (lotions, soaps, towels, robes). If you're visiting Vermont and planning on spending any time near Woodstock (and you should visit Woodstock if you're in Vermont), then I would definitely recommend spending a night at the Woodstock Inn.

I proposed to my future wife while staying at the Woodstock Inn. I had stayed there several times before and always had a great experience. The staff was incredibly helpful with helping me prepare the big day and I could not have been more appreciative of everything they did. The Woodstock Inn is a wonderful hotel in the center of Woodstock, VT with amazing recreational offerings. Last summer I went fly fishing with the kids and had a great time. I highly recommend this hotel!
