We stayed in the Belmond Governor's Residence on the last night of our 6-day Myanmar trip. It's a pity we could not stay longer. The hotel not only provided the great facilities and hospitality to guests, but also an art and culture experience on Myanmar. The facilities in the room are good and our stay was very comfortable. The swimming pool area is also great for doing nothing and get lazy. You will also see peacocks and goose in the garden or on your way back to the room! The hotel offers different daily activities for guests to join in the afternoon, and on Tuesday it was a guest cocktail session. We had some great local wines and Burmese snacks, and spent a great & relaxing evening chatting with April, one of the hotel staff. We also enjoyed the paintings by local artists in the gallery. We will certainly stay in the Belmond Governor's Residence when we visit Yangon again.

To start I would like to mention that if I got the room I paid for and booked then the rating will be different. Positive points: the property has a beautiful landscape and such a lovely atmosphere that makes you isolated from the city which is right outside the gate of the property. location is near by few attraction and in an up scaled area by few embassies. very nice and huge swimming pool very kind and nice staff food is avrage but the sitting area of the resturant is amazing and I have a photo for you ....room serive is very limited and over priced for the city. Negative side of the story which realy made me very upset that I have paid extra for a jounier suite the been described on the web side as overlooking the orchied garden with large sitting area. what I got is a dark coffien room with no light even at 12 noon (picture is attached) and light must be on all times while the only window which is have blocked is over looking nothing!!!! the living are has one couch which is ok but not as described and when I complained of the room they told me all rooms are booked !!! and I can assure you the hotel is not even 50% occupied. TV has very limited chanelles and unclear picture and it is a very small screen that is displaced over a stand the is 150 cm and you have to look up to watch it (though not much to watch any way) Aunt is filling the room beyond describtion and I am sure management will find an answer but I would say there is ways to elemente or cut down on the armies of aunt in the room MAKE SURE YOU STAY AWAY FROM ROOM 702 Iam still in the hotel if managment would like to come over and deny or explane but I will be checking out 1 day earlier now since I can not stand the darkness in the room all day If the correct room assigned as per booking then maybe things would have benn different internet could be very slow at ceertain times and if you are trying to down load or open photos then forget it.....

Very interesting hotel, with great facilities and good service. Built in colonial style, with lots of wood in the main building and spacious rooms. Exquisite service, with emphasis on the high quality breakfast, with live cooking and great variety to choose from. The dinner is equally served with great refinement, on the first floor. Nice pool with sun loungers all around. Beautiful peacocks stroll in the gardens.

This is very nice resort in the city center. All villas are in colonial style with beautifull furniture. Most of items in the guest room are wooden. The landscape is nice, relaxing, tranquil and green with grass fiel. The pool is large and nice, the pond is nice also. The restaurant is in an elegant settings up on the ground floor. The 2 floor is set up for special event. It can be good for a corporate party, bithday, gala dinner and paitnting exhibition etc... Staff were friendly and helpful. This is a very nice and charming resort. This is a place to relax and enjoy.

A first class visit. Outstanding in every respect: service, quality of food, the cultural evening show. Quite breathtaking all in all. The atmosphere and state of refurbishment take one back into the colonial past in a heartbeat.
