Reviews for Belmond Governor's Residence
The service is amazing at the Belmond. Pre-empting any request one may have at the appropriate moment. A beautiful, more residential area of Yangon but easy to walk to restaurants still. Loved the pool, free 5 min massages, ice-cream and breakfast. We will definitely stay again in Yangon. Well worth the extra $.

This is a really lovely old teak building, which has been lovingly restored and cared for. The service is excellent – incredibly efficient, friendly and pro-active. There are two restaurants. One is downstairs, near the pond and swimming pool, and has both indoor and outdoor dining with an a la carte menu. Upstairs, there is a buffet service for dinner, with a huge range of local (and international) dishes on offer and was excellent. Our room was beautiful, extremely comfortable and contained everything that you would expect from a high-end hotel. I would have no hesitation about staying here again!

Why stay in a hotel when you can stay in a 100-year old teak mansion? Belmond Governor's Residence is hands-down the place to book if you want to experience the most luxury Myanmar has to offer. The hotel also offers a wide range of activities for the residents ranging from yoga to guided city tours.

Spent one enjoyable night, and so comments are limited. Pretty boutique-style colonial hotel and grounds in a quiet residential area. Taxis will be needed to travel anywhere. Very welcoming and helpful staff, including pick-up from airport. Big rooms, with plenty of amenities. Slightly musty but it may have just been our room. Large open dining area with local buffet (western restaurant also available). Very good. The bar is a little soulless and there didn't seem to be a spa in operation. Definitely better than the big corporate chain hotels.

In a nice part of town. Room nice enough, breakfast was very good, curry buffet and salads at night nice but....somehow not amazing and a little disappointing. I think we came in April and it was just too hot. Yangon itself a disappointment.
