A short two-minute ferry ride from a near-by pier (Mariner's) is this island resort. We visited a few times on our trip because of the food and service. Today, we had the Lunch Buffet which is served at 12:30 promptly. They served their 6-7 types of fresh bread (try the cinnamon), three different types of meat (chicken, goat and fish) with rice, vegetarian lasagna, salads and various garnishes. For dessert, there was fresh fruit salad, bread pudding, cheese cake and another type of cake. I actually went back for a second slice of the aforementioned bread. Lunch was about $35 USD pp. They have an extensive drink menu...most in the $5-$7 USD range. While I wouldn't visit for the beach alone; the service and food made us return. Thanks!!

In 2006, my husband and I experienced a heartbreaking loss, when our adult son passes away after a brief but destructive illness. As we tried to deal with our grief. we sought a place to offer us both solitude but also extreme beauty. It is finding such that we had the joy of staying at Young Island Resort. It is like finding a piece of heaven while still alive. It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful resorts imaginable. The grounds are like an arboretum. The staff is so anxious to please and see you smile and yet no one has their hand out looking for a tip. We were taken on tours by staff on their days off. We bought bread fruit which was prepared by staff and brought back for us to enjoy. We could be as active as we wanted to be or sit and do nothing. It is the way of St. Vincent's in General..The Casita's or rooms were lovely whether you were at ground level or at the top, as we were. I would go back anytime...Heaven on Earth.

We have stayed at Young Island on numerous occasions. The cottage concept is great. There is space, nature, a beautiful breeze and the sound of the ocean at night. We keep coming back because we love the place. The staff go out of their way to be accommodating and helpful. The rooms are spacious and have beautiful sea views. Wonderful place!

This is a great place to chill out, eat fresh delicious food and get friendly and timely service. Be aware some cottages are more accessible than others. Our cottage was 92 stairs up the hill which was actually quite fun for us but not everyone would fair as well. The fresh home made bread is hard to resist with each meal. We would go back again!!!
