Reviews for Young Island Resort
Sadly this idyllic place is on a serious decline; cheap mismatched linens, no pdates for years, no beach or pool service ; poorly maintianed infrastructure and a booming noise problem that can go on all night from a night club accross the water. Sad because it wa one peaceful haven.

Young island is so beautiful, the food is great, the bread melts in your mouth. My only thing is our villa was at the top, so we took the challenge to walk up to it and it took my breath away had to rest for a few minutes before I could investigate, but the view surely took my breath away because it was so beautiful. The villa is beautiful, it's a home away from home. We loved it and it was so nice swimming in the pool and yet enjoying the view. The walk was worth it but next time I will drive up.

Yet another Anniversary at this wonderful resort. It may not be the most modern or the fanciest resort but the service and food are exemplary, especially the breads baked on site. The rooms , the pool and the beach were immaculate and the service was the very best. In fact,Cheryl at Main Office greeted us with "Hi Tom & Gail, am I right in saying that you are here for your 57th anniversary--congratulations" How she remembers and the fact she cares is what makes this place unique. We also had the opportunity to meet the Governor General of St Vincent & the Grenadines Sir Frederick Ballantyne who is the owner of Young Island Resort. He came over, introduced himself and chatted about some mutual friends on Bequia , the island where we live then wished us a happy Anniversary. A gracious host and and a highly respected official in St Vincent & The Grenadines. God willing, Gail and I will be back for our 58th.

Quiet resort, no activity to expect, can class it more as a simple intimate feeling just good for relaxation. No indoor restaurant but rather outside like a garden feeling. Private cottages, no television though...small pool đ. The boat is very easily accessible to and from the mainland st Vincent the boat operators are very understanding like if you're going to the mainland late at nights they are always there to transport you. There is a really cool nice restaurant just 1 min walking distance to the side of the docks when u reach to mainland you can see it from young island. Was welcomed with a complimentary drink as soon as I got across. Staff service isn't top notch but the food is ok.

Really, probably the nicest people we have ever met anywhere live in SVG. The people overall are just really pleasant people and the staff at the resort are amazing. They are kind, thoughtful, considerate, anticipate ever need and are helpful without that weird, creepy feeling you get from some tourist/resort places that are "too" solicitous (you know what I mean). The food was good and they were open to special orders, staff answer a billion questions on just about everything every day, they arranged a car at our request for a sight seeing day that was so easy to get and drop off it was amazing, the staff on the catamaran sail-away were great, and there really was nothing that you could not get if needed. The pool was clean and lovely, our cottage was huge (and the pictures do not do it justice -- the stone walls and floor made it cool and inviting), the beds were soft, our cottage pool was nice and deep, there was always a great breeze and the grounds were beautiful. It was a hike up the hill to our cottage (over 100 steps each way), but there was a railing, places to stop and rest for a bit, and amazing views. There are only a few cottages so you do not feel like there are herds of people everywhere and you can easily be private and quiet if desired....although we met several very nice people there as well. The grounds were beautiful. Don't get me wrong, its pricey, but you have an experience of a lifetime and more than enough great food to keep you full and content. It very much a private paradise for a low key and leisurely vacation.
