After staying in luxury hotels around the world, I've learned that the properties you remember years later aren't necessarily the most expensive—they're the ones where people genuinely care. Bardessono is one of those rare places. From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortless. Christian (I hope I have his name right) welcomed us with a surprisingly good glass of local wine before grinning and saying, "I've got some really, really good news." We expected the typical hotel upgrade speech. Instead, his genuine excitement made us feel like we were the only guests on the property. He couldn't wait to show us our suite, walked us through every detail, and made sure we had everything we needed. Before we even finished checking in, concierge Matt introduced himself. What impressed me most was that his outstanding service actually started before we arrived. He had already helped me find nearby pickleball courts, walking trails, and local recommendations through email. Throughout our stay, he and Andrea made every reservation and suggestion feel thoughtful, never scripted. The property itself is exactly what Napa should feel like—peaceful, elegant, and beautifully designed with natural landscaping and calming water features throughout. Our only disappointment was breakfast. We booked through the American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts program, and while it was included, my husband found it underwhelming compared to the exceptional standard set by everything else. A chance conversation with Alain, the General Manager, confirmed what we had already experienced: hospitality here starts from the top. Even dinner was memorable—the pesto gnocchi with a glass of Napa red wine was perfection. Finally, the valet team deserves a mention. We also learned many of the staff have been here for years, and it shows. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to see you every time. Luxury is easy to buy. Hospitality isn't. Bardessono has mastered both, and that's what makes it unforgettable.

What an incredible hotel with an impeccable staff. We’ve stayed at many wonderful places, but we’ve never experienced the level of care and hospitality that Alicia showed us. Our room was stunning, the hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, and we loved spending time by the pool. Room service arrived incredibly quickly, and every request we made was handled promptly and with genuine kindness. We can’t recommend this hotel highly enough and can’t wait to return!

My family and I had a fabulous time staying at Bardessono Hotel & Spa! The location was perfect, the hotel was gorgeous, and the service was outstanding, The rooms were immaculate, modern, and spacious. We were there to celebrate my daughter's college graduation and the staff went out of their way to make her feel celebrated and special. We loved the Lexus partnership that allowed us to have free transportation to and from local wineries and restaurants. It will be hard for us to stay anywhere else in Napa after having stayed at the Bardessono!

My husband and I stayed for one night midweek in March 2026. Our room was just over $1,000 for the night (including the requisite taxes and fees). There were few guests at the hotel given the time of year and day of week. We booked through our Amex Platinum program which offers space available upgrades at check in. We were not offered an upgrade and were shown to a room next to the mechanical room. This unfortunate location was a service miss for the hotel. The staff were pleasant, we were offered a glass of champagne at check-in, a welcome bottle of champagne was delivered to our room after arrival and some sweet treats were waiting in the room for us. Lovely gestures and generally expected at a 5-star hotel at this price point. The room and bathroom are large, and there was a private patio surrounded by trees. Unfortunately, the patio furniture was covered in dust and pollen, and we did not want to clean it up ourselves since we were dressed for wine tasting and dinner reservations. We ended up not using the patio to enjoy the champagne and sweets because of this. We also found a large piece of dental floss on the carpet near the sofa. Turn down service was provided, but was lackluster for a hotel at this level. If we had been staying over another night, we would have let housekeeping know about these misses and also asked for some help tidying the patio furniture. As it was, we enjoyed our wine tasting and dinner, and just went home earlier than planned the next day. All in all, the hotel has lovely, peaceful landscaping in a great location, and the staff were pleasant. But it felt overpriced for the value.

From the moment we arrived for our tour, it was clear that Monica is someone who genuinely loves what she does, and that passion comes through in every detail. The property itself is absolutely stunning. The location, the design, the atmosphere are all exceptional. It is the kind of venue that leaves a lasting impression, and Monica made the experience of discovering it even more special. She was gracious, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed throughout the entire visit. While we ultimately chose a different venue for our upcoming offsite event, Bardessono is at the top of our list for future events. I will be recommending Monica and the Bardessono team to my network of event-planning colleagues without hesitation.
