The hotel is far away from the public beaches, you have to take a shuttle and it’s only going and coming back twice a day, being the last one at 17:30, before the sunset so if you want to see the sunset by the beach you will need to take a taxi to come back. The first day we took the shuttle to the beach there was not shuttle to come back, we were two different groups waiting for it, when we called the hotel they said that it had already been there but there was nobody to pick up which was not true, later they said the driver took us to a different spot in the beach, they didn’t know why, and the one that had to pick us up went to the usual spot. Initially they were refusing to take responsibility for it and didn’t want to pay for the taxi to come back. The tour they organize to snorkel with dolphins is one of the most dangerous tours I have ever done, tens of boats with the engines running following three dolphins around a huge group of people. The staff in the boat didn’t have the proper sizes for our fins even though we gave our sizes to the hotel staff the day before and they didn’t have enough goggles and tubes for everyone. The hotel provides with towels to go to the beach, first 2 days they gave them to us without asking for anything, the next few days they wanted a 10$ deposit to give us a towel, which is ridiculous in a 5-star hotel and also kind of mind blowing that they do it randomly. The hotel rooms are good and quiet and breakfast is pretty good. Wouldn’t come back knowing there are other options at walking distance from Kendwa or nungwi beach but mainly for all these disappointing events.
