Reviews for Grand Hotel Zermatterhof
I was nervous that our Deluxe Room would be faded given the age of the hotel, but everything was perfectly maintained and we had a balcony with exceptional views of the Matterhorn. The hotel also has unrivaled pool and spa facilities (the jacuzzi is situated so that you have a view of the Matterhorn). The only negative was that at check-in they charged us an additional CHF 200 a night on account of the fact that the reservation was for only one person and my wife was staying with me. I understand that an extra human staying in a room has some additional cost on the hotel, but CHF 200 a night is a bit high for an additional robe and another seat at the breakfast buffet.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and I’ve enjoyed every single moment with it. It was amazing location and good staff and one of the main thing Ive loved the most was chocolate bar that they provide inside the room as complement. Before i check out ive asked the hotel to buy two boxes of it and i had them ready at check out. I went back again just to get more of this chocolate but unfortunately they ran out of it. Don’t miss this chocolate when you stay with them.
For friendly, courteous, efficient and personal service the GHZ is impossible to beat. All aspects are excellent, with many little touches adding together for a memorable and luxurious stay. I just wish I had more time to enjoy the fabulous breakfast - but the snow was too good...
An amazing stay, wonderful hotel, excellent service. Concierge in the ski room an excellent service, all staff super friendly. Horse drawn carriage back to the railway station was the cream on the cake.

So I booked this hotel, knowing that from the name it would not be an inexpensive stay. I was somewhat reluctant but paid the premium for a Matterhorn view room as it seemed the thing to do. The view was excellent. As you walk around the town and ski the mountain this very photogenic peak seems to pop up everywhere. The room was very comfortable with a good shower and tub. Bed very nice. The pillows given were just OK but a "Pillow Menu" sits by the bed and they will bring in many different varieties that should satisfy almost anyone's taste. Breakfast buffet was outstanding, and the service up to Swiss standards. We were a little bit anxious as to how we manage to get around the ski resort as this was our first trip. The ski concierge in the locker room really made everything very smooth. After the first day we could tell him what we liked and didn't like and he could make suggestions on places to go and places to avoid. Major convenience to get lift tickets right at the front desk. read complaint about the church bells. While we did hear them starting early in the morning it wasn't too much of a problem
