Las Palmas is state of the art! From the warm welcoming staff, beautiful accommodations, food prep and quality, and attention to detail. It is amazing. We have come back many times. It is quiet and serene and great way to detox from city life.

We just got back from a family vacation at Las Palmas and loved every bit of it! Location: There's no unnecessary extravagance. It's raw, pure beauty tucked away with no crowds. The drive from the airport was a 5 minute drive. That was an added bonus with a family of our size. We had 6 adults, an 11 year old, a 9 year old, 1 and a half year old, and a one year old. Check In & First Impression: Check in was smooth and easy. We were escorted to our rooms with seamless windows/doors facing the ocean. Even inside, you felt like you were outside with these massive glass doors. The rooms were updated, clean, and very spacious. We have an appreciation for boutique style resorts with charm and this was just that. The grounds, pools, chairs, and cushions on the beach were well kept. The Service: The beach service with amazing as well. Yudia and Regelio took care of us on the first day and set the bar very high. We loved them!!! Manny "The Man" is outstanding as well. He understood our needs exactly when we needed them. The Food: Delicious!!!! While dinner is at the same location each night, there is a different menu every evening. Dinner was under the thatched roof on the deck. The change up with the menu was nice, but it would be so cool if they had a few locations for dinners just to kick things up a notch. Maybe a candle lit dinner in the sand under the palapas a few nights a week? Just for a different scenery since there's no other restaurants nearby. Again, this was so minor, it barely is even worth mentioning because the food was delicious. Child Friendly: With two babies, we were a little nervous about things being child friendly, but to be honest, this was the first place my husband and I felt like we can let our 18 month old walk around and just be free. No need to be helicopter parents here because it's all so child friendly. Although we would have loved high chairs, our daughter still enjoyed her freedom as she danced to the music, went to the sand to play and back to the dinner table. They had pack n plays for cribs which was perfectly fine, but I do suggest bringing a pack n play fitted sheet. They provided sheets, but they were just folded sheets on top which is fine for our 18 month old but could be a suffocation hazard from small infants. We happened to bring ours and just tucked it over their sheets for extra cushion. The food options for our daughter were great as well. The 11 and 9 year old in our group had a blast making friends and playing in the ocean and pool. They were entertained as the staff provided them with soccer balls, boogie boards, etc. Amenities: Our room had a standard kitchen sized fridge (another bonus for kiddos) so we were able to keep leftovers, store milk, keep a few groceries, etc. We were able to schedule massages in the comfort of our (giant) living space within our room. They were amazing. The pools provided entertainment for relaxation or play. The bar was well stocked and drinks were delicious! What many should understand is that this isn't an uppity giant modern resort with tons of people in every direction. Las Palmas has charm and character mixed with raw nature and the breathtaking ocean. You will encounter the same workers each day and build fun relationships with them. You will meet other guests and learn about other people and cultures. Little fun creatures like crabs may make an appearance from time to time, but that comes with the territory of being on a beach. For some, that's not their cup of tea and that's okay. If you like personable, quaint, and charming then this is your place! Note: If you are worried about Zika, simply bring bug spray (with deet) and spray yourself during sunset hour and you will be fine. Me, being a mother and wanting to grow my family eventually, I pretty much bathed in the stuff and was completely fine :) All in all, this place was perfect for our family and we WILL be returning! Room 27 in ON the beach and perfect for families with kiddos!

We've been dining at Las palmas since 2005 when it was a 6 room boutique hotel. The dinner we had recently was great. The seared tuna was best we've had anywhere. Sushi grade and served over fresh vegetables. Same tuna the restaurant uses for the best dish on the lunch menu, tuna tostada. The beet carpaccio appetizer was fresh & tasty. Onion soup was freshly made and excellent. The arrecherra was very good. Service was prompt & friendly and ambiance of dining on the beach at sunset was memorable.

My wife and I spent 10 days at Las Palmas in April of 2016. The quality, beauty, tranquility, (no typical Mexican vendors on the beach), fresh fish and excellent staff convinced us to bring our kids back in April 2017. Everything we loved the first time was just as good but surprisingly the food was 10x better! The quality, flavors and selection were amazing. And this year there was live entertainment at dinner most nights. We are HOOKED! Not sure what else we could want. Heading back January and October 2018.

This property is beautiful. It sits on a very deep/wide pristine beach with no vendors and rarely any pedestrians. The property is very well taken care of and the villas are great. I've read complaints about the quality of the food but we had no issues with that and thought it was great. That said I do want to mention that although this place is sort of portrayed as a hotel it's definitely a condo complex and you will be staying in a privately owned unit that is rented out by the condo management. Although the units are privately owned they are kept un-personalized so that they are more like a hotel room, which is good. We stayed in two different units because our choice was not available the first night of our stay. The first unit faced the pool and was lovely but not a unit we would ever chose on our own as the ocean view was non-existent. Our second unit was beachfront 2-bedroom on second level and was very private with amazing views. One thing I'll mention is that after spending months reading every review and looking at every photo I could find online (I'm very thorough when planing a trip) I decided on a one-bedroom unit and even emailed to be sure that the photos I was seeing online were photos of the exact unit I would be getting. I'd been through the bait and switch before and was covering the bases here. After a few emails back and forth the owner called me to discuss and assured me that what I was seeing was what I would get. It wasn't. Once we got there were were told we were getting upgraded to a two bedroom and thankfully that room was beautiful but when I asked about the room I'd reserved I was told that room was in a building that is privately owned and did not rent out. So just be aware the the photos you see of those one bedroom beach front room and any other rooms in that building are not what you will get even if they are what you request. Why they keep the photos on the website I have no idea. Like I said the food was good. The only issue we had with it was we thought they had too many "special" nights like taco night, pizza night, bbq night, etc... and when they have those nights you cannot choose to order anything else. Thankfully some of those nights were good but the pizza was a thumbs down. Beach service was a bit sketchy. Some days they would check on us to see if we needed drinks and other days we would have to go to the bar to get them and nobody would ever come to our chairs. Our last day there the management was hosting some event for yacht people and when we were having breakfast they were going around putting reserved markers on all of the good beach chairs. If we are paying to stay at the resort and weren't alerted about this event upon making reservations we are using the chairs we want to use, which we did. I just moved the reserved signs to other chairs and used the ones I'd been using the entire week. Overall this was a very good stay at a very beautiful property. Just be aware of the things I mentioned. Oh! And if you go use the massage therapist that they recommend. We used her twice and she is amazing.
